JOB DETAILS:
Job Purpose / Objective:
i. Responsible for welding and metal fabrication tasks to join and repair metal components that results in strong and reliable metal joints used in road construction projects.
ii. Ensuring the quality, integrity, and longevity of metal structures and equipment within the construction site.

Job Roles and Responsibilities:
1. Welding and Fabrication:
i. Interpret engineering drawings and specifications to determine welding requirements.
ii. Perform various welding techniques (such as MIG, TIG, or arc welding) to join metal components accurately.
iii. Fabricate metal structures, supports, and other components as needed.
2. Quality Assurance:
i. Inspect welded joints for defects, such as cracks, incomplete fusion, or porosity.
ii. Ensure proper alignment and fit of welded components.
3. Safety Compliance:
i. Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines for welding operations.
ii. Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) to prevent accidents.
4. Material Preparation:
i. Prepare metal surfaces for welding by cleaning, cutting, and grinding as necessary.
ii. Ensure proper fit-up of components before welding.
5. Maintenance and Repair:
i. Perform welding repairs on damaged or worn metal structures and equipment.
ii. Assess and identify the need for repairs or replacements.
6. Equipment Maintenance:
i. Maintain welding equipment and tools in good working condition.
ii. Report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs.
7. Collaboration: Coordinate with other construction team members to ensure proper integration of welded components.
8. Documentation: Maintain records of welding activities, including materials used and work performed.
9. Performs any other duty as assigned by the supervisor from time to time.

1. Welding Quality: Evaluate the quality of welded joints in terms of strength and adherence to specifications.
2. Efficiency: Assess the speed and efficiency of welding processes.
3. Safety Compliance: Monitor adherence to safety protocols and guidelines during welding operations.
4. Repair Effectiveness: Measure the success of welding repairs in restoring metal components to functional condition.

Work Experience, Skills and Knowledge:
1. Welding Skills: Proficiency in various welding techniques (MIG, TIG, arc, etc.) and metal fabrication.
2. Blueprint Reading: Ability to interpret engineering drawings and plans for accurate welding.
3. Attention to Detail: Precision in aligning and welding metal components.
4. Safety Awareness: Knowledge of welding safety protocols and proper PPE usage.
5. Physical Endurance: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including standing and welding for extended periods.
6. Problem-Solving: Capability to identify welding defects and find effective solutions.
7. Team Collaboration: Effective communication and collaboration with other construction team members.
8. Time Management: Efficiently complete welding tasks within project timelines.
9. Professionalism: Maintain a high level of professionalism and integrity in all interactions.
10. Working experience: Possession 3 years working experience obtained in equivalent capacity.
