Biogas Solutions Uganda Ltd (BSUL) is a private company limited by guarantee established in Uganda with the objective to formulate, develop and set in motion strategies, policies, plans, measures, systems and approaches that support private sector led biogas programme aimed at sustainable improvement of the livelihoods of rural and peri-urban households in Uganda. BSUL is the national implementing agency for the ABPPII programme, which is jointly managed by HIVOS and SNV. The program is implemented in five African countries Biogas Solutions Uganda Limited seeks to fill the following positions:
Overview of the position
BSU Ltd is seeking for mature, self-motivated individuals to take charge of their selected key clients and promote the use of biogas products and services in Central and Western Districts of Uganda.
The BMHOs report to the Business Development & Marketing Manager and have responsibility for positioning biogas products and service to the agriculture sector – specifically focused in the Districts of Mukono, Kayunga, Buikwe, Luwero, Nakaseke, Nakasongola, Kiboga & Buvuma for central and Western districts of Rukungiri, Kasese, Fort Portal, Kyenjojo and Kyegegwa. S/he develops and implements client and result-driven business models; carry out capacity building for the different stakeholders in the sector both in business management and in bio-slurry usage and increased sales/distribution of biogas products and services in Uganda. S/he will work as liaison between the biogas client, biogas construction enterprises, BSUL, and other partners as appropriate. S/he will work closely with other team members to develop BSUL Company, its mission, brand and biogas sector support programmes.
Contract Duration: 8 months’ subject to renewal starting 1st May 2019
Salary Scale: To be negotiated upon review of CV and experience.

  Key Responsibilities:
• Develop the operational plan for the region/ sector given
• Market Development: establish and maintain relationships with key partners linking them to biogas construction enterprises.
• Implement the agreed upon models in building effective distribution channels and effectively share and manage accounts with other actors in the sector.
• Carry-out Train of Trainers and other extension models in Bio-slurry management among farmers.
• Contribute to the promotion of extension reforms and capacity development for extension/advisory services with special attention to demand-led and participatory approaches to promote biogas among smallholders and rural people, especially women and marginal groups.
• Promote the use of Biogas in all households and provide the necessary information on its use and installation processes.
• Identify and develop value chain actors for the Hub (Farmers, Community Based Organizations, farmer groups, Micro Finance institutions, Biogas Construction Enterprises and Biogas Promoters)
• Perform other related duties as required


Requirements:
• BA in any of the fields; Community Development, Agriculture or Agribusiness Management
• Experience in Agriculture Extension and Training
• Relationships with large agriculture cooperatives and/or financial institutions is a plus.
• Willingness to intensively travel in the area of operation.
• Valid permit of a motorcycle.


• 3 years of relevant working experience in business development, sales and marketing, in rural communities, is an added advantage but not a preliquisite
