Job Title: DCS OPERATOR
Reports to : Head of Section

Job Description:
• To run and coordinate DCS operations, achieve targeted shift production and ensure that required quality and optimizing process parameters so as to maximize yield performance,
• To oversee all boiler related operations and coordinate work of subordinates in the boiler house with the aim of achieving maximum steam generation for efficient operations
• Read processing schedules, operating logs and laboratory recommendations to determine changes in equipment controls required to produce specified quantity and quality.
• Set controls to adjust process variables such as flows, temperatures and pressures
• Responsible for recording, compiling, reporting, and documenting operating data and monitoring process indicators
• Coordinate the startup, shut down (normal and emergency) and normal operations/maintenance activities with lead operator and shift engineers.

Required skills:
• Diploma/degree in process operation sciences, chemical engineering
• Good knowledge of machinery functioning principles, boiler rules, regulations and procedures
• Possession of boiler computer knowledge certificate is an added advantage
• Fire hazard management and control skills
• Skills in overhauling and operations maintenance of the boiler
• Good communications skills
• Computer literacy
