Core Roles and Responsibilities
• Implement the design of the ERP programme, in close coordination with OPM, Local Government, implementing partners, and other actors in the ERP sector, with close emphasis on community-based disaster preparedness activities, emergency preparedness plans, including contingency plans, in selected communities, high quality humanitarian response programmes.
• Establish good working relationship with OPM, Local Government at District levels, and other implementing partners including them in planning, managing and monitoring of ERP project activities for sustainable development.
• Build capacity of BRAC and partners and communities in: Community Based Disaster Preparedness (partners & communities); Emergency Preparedness including contingency planning (BRAC & partners).
• Offer technical support to the program team and beneficiaries towards the establishment and implementation of the program focusing on key program areas of ERP including the implementation of, and adherence to, programmatic and organization-wide, systems and procedures for ensuring good practice to meet sectoral standards on accountability and programme quality, including; the Code of Conduct for the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement and Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) in Disaster Relief, the Sphere Humanitarian Charter and Minimum Standards in Disaster Response.
• Monitor, track documents and reports, identified project achievements, challenges and corrective action when required, and adjusts project plans accordingly.
• Promotes the safety of self, team members, project beneficiaries from harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation to achieve the programme’s goals. Safeguarding roles
• Read, understand, practice, promote and endorse the sections of the safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
• Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, encourage others to do so.
Job Specifications
The successful candidate should have; Bachelors’ degree in Community Development, Social Sciences, Development Studies with a strong humanitarian management background;3 years of relevant professional experience in emergency preparedness and response sector in a similar position. 1 year of designing/implementing & monitoring humanitarian interventions with IDPs or refugees, ability to adapt or change priorities, and take initiative to deal with difficulties encountered in daily work and ability to manage local staff in a mature, impartial and inclusive manner and address inequalities, capacity to manage a multidisciplinary and multicultural team.
