JOB DETAILS:
Job Purpose: The purpose of this role is to handle shift works, carry out preventive maintenance on all utilities and Mixing room equipment and attend to machine breakdowns to maintain optimal availability and productivity.

Functional Outputs/Activities per key performance area:
• Carry out routine checks and inspections on all Utilities (Boilers, compressors, generators, Chillers etc) and Mixing room equipment and ensure timely return of checklists to the planner.
• Raising notifications for all utilities and mixing room equipment related issues;
• Carry out preventive maintenance on all utilities and mixing room equipment as per the schedule and in an appropriate manner;
• Maintain optimal equipment availability through doing reliability centred maintenance activities planned from notifications to improve productivity;
• Timely Response to abrupt machine breakdowns to ensure continued production;
• Filling job cards for any machine breakdown that occurs;
• Carry out root cause analysis (RCA) using 5 Why problem-solving tool for any breakdown above 30mins;
• Manage daily shift costs by through focused improvement and innovations;
• Maintain daily operating logs, records, reports on all utilities equipment, reports on daily water usage, electricity usages and generator fuel consumption.
• Coordinate with welding team and plumber to maintain and repair piping systems such as those for compressed air and steam.
• Repairing pallet trolleys;
• Liaise with the Mechanical In charge and the Planner to ensure availability of mechanical spare parts;
• Liaise with the planner, mechanical in charge and stores to receive mechanical spares parts;
• Ensure timely communication of all equipment related issues to the mechanical In charge and the mixing team;
• Working closely with the different stakeholders to ensure their needs are met;
• Complying to safety and Quality guidelines in day today activities;
• Preparation of daily shift handover reports;
• Ensure adherence to 5S and asset care/autonomous maintenance activities;
• Train the mixing operators on asset care and basic equipment maintenance;
• Carry out machine control system modifications, motor installation and troubleshooting;
• Perform any other duties and responsibilities as maybe assigned from time to time by the direct supervisor;

Financial Management
• Monitor and control daily shift maintenance costs.

Risk Management
• Identify the risks associated to the mechanical activities and communicating them to the mechanical in charge.

Compliance
• Ensure regulatory compliance in execution of activities within Uganda.
• Adherence to all Movit Group and In Country Policies and Procedures.
• Prepare and submit location daily report.

Minimum Qualification Requirements:
Related Minimum Experience:
• Hold Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
• Awareness in occupational health & safety
• 3 to 5 years’ relevant experience in FMCG

Industry preferably in a similar role.
