JOB DETAILS:
Uganda Tobacco Services Ltd is an Independent Tobacco Sponsoring Company Operating in Uganda-South is seeking to recruit dynamic and self-motivated individuals to fill the position below:
Position: 20 Field Technicians
Reports to: Zone Manager
Function: Agronomy

Description of Purpose:
Co-ordinate and manage a designated growing zone, of contracted growers (Approx: 200-250) to produce the defined target volume and quality through a sustainable farmer base and agricultural best practices,
Key Result Areas:

• Farmer selection and registration.
  
• Implementation of recommended best practices.
  
• Farmer training.
  
• Timely & accurate submission of reports on registered farmers’ using agro tech
  
• Early reporting of crop estimate deviations from target.
  
• Monitor and control issuing and recovery of crop finance in full.
  

Qualification:

• Minimum, a Diploma in Agriculture or equivalent from a recognized institution
  
• Experience in Tobacco Agronomy is an added advantage
  
• Valid Motor driving permit
  

Key Technical Competencies:

• Demonstrated experience in farmer Mobilization & Supervision
  
• Knowledgeable in best agronomic practices and quality standards.
  
• Demonstrated leadership and mobilization Skills
  
• Knowledge of overall Company policies, and in particular sustainable Tobacco Production
