JOB DETAILS:
Restless Development in partnership with CARE International in Uganda, Centre for Reproductive Rights, and Youth Coalition for Sexual and Reproductive Health & Rights, is implementing a seven-year project; Sexual and Reproductive Health and Economic Empowerment supporting out of school adolescent girls’ rights and skills (SHE SOARS) in Arua city, Terego, Madi-Okollo and Kampala districts. The SHE SOARS project seeks to increase enjoyment of sexual related human rights by the most marginalised and vulnerable women and girls’ rights holders particularly out of school adolescent girls. Therefore, we are looking for young people passionate about sexual reproductive health and research to be part of this exciting work as youth researchers. Your role as a Youth Research As a Youth Researcher, you will support the implementation of the project in the districts Arua in Ayivu Division and particularly in; Pajulu sub County, Adumi sub County, Tadamu sub County as well as Terego and Madi-Okollo district, and you will take the lead of the entire research cycle i.e., conduct data collection, participate in the analysis of findings and reporting.

Attending foundation trainings for both the qualitative and quantitative research
• Mobilise respondents
• Carryout data collection as per the agreed upon targets/deliverables
• Ensure high quality of data collected by cleaning it
• Carry out transcription of collected data
• Participate in the analysis workshop
• Conduct validation exercises
• Ensure the safety of fellow researchers and the community members

Key Priorities
• Research Questions and Training (20%)
• Attend a 4-day training, to equip you with the skills to complete this work.
• Participate actively during the training sessions and related activities.
• Provide feedback on the research tools/instruments to ensure they align with youth priorities.
• Data Collection (60%)
• Collect survey data independently, ethically, and accurately from young people in communities
• Together with your data collection team, manage and update your data collection work plan
• Ensure that all data is effectively uploaded to the data collection platform
• Data Analysis and Interpretation (20%)
• Attend a 3-day analysis workshop, to identify key trends arising in the data
• Provide your own interpretation of the data collected, based on what’s presented in the workshop
• Be available for follow-up and assist in collating the findings from the analysis workshop
• Other
• You will also be given an opportunity to participate in sharing our research findings with partners and other key stakeholders at district level as well as national policy-makers.

Skills and Experience essential
• Completed at least O levels
• Aged between 18-24 years
• Current resident of Arua city particularly In Arua She soars will be working in Ayivu Division and particularly in; Pajulu sub County, Adumi sub County, Tadamu sub County as well as Terego and Madi-Okollo district.
• Passionate about research and sexual reproductive health Desirable
• Prior social science research experience preferred, but not required
• Fluent in English, Lugbara, Kiswahili, Alur, Arabic
