JOB DETAILS:

Job Purpose / Objective:
Provide technical support, assist in equipment maintenance, and contribute to the effective operation of mechanical systems and machinery within road construction projects.
Responsible for supporting mechanical engineering activities related to the design, maintenance, and operation of construction equipment and machinery to ensure the proper functioning and efficiency of mechanical systems critical to the construction process.

Job Roles and Responsibilities:
Equipment Maintenance:
• Assist in the maintenance and repair of construction equipment, vehicles, and machinery to ensure optimal performance.
• Conduct routine inspections, diagnose issues, and recommend maintenance procedures.

Troubleshooting:
• Assist in diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical issues and malfunctions in construction equipment and machinery.
• Collaborate with senior engineers to develop solutions and implement repairs.

Documentation:
• Maintain accurate records of equipment maintenance, repairs, and service history.
• Prepare maintenance schedules and reports as needed.

Spare Parts Management:
• Assist in managing inventory of spare parts and components for construction equipment.
• Coordinate with procurement and inventory teams to ensure availability of critical parts.

Equipment Testing and Calibration:
• Assist in testing and calibrating construction equipment and machinery to ensure accurate performance.
• Follow industry standards and procedures for calibration.

Safety Compliance:
• Ensure that construction equipment and machinery comply with safety regulations and standards.
• Participate in safety training and implement safety measures during maintenance activities.

Collaboration:
• Collaborate with other engineering disciplines, project managers, and equipment operators to ensure smooth operations.
• Performs any other duty as assigned by the supervisor from time to time.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
• Equipment Uptime: Measure the availability and operational uptime of construction equipment.
• Maintenance Timeliness: Assess the promptness and effectiveness of equipment maintenance.
• Repair Efficiency: Evaluate the speed and accuracy of diagnosing and repairing mechanical issues.
• Documentation Accuracy: Measure the accuracy and completeness of maintenance records.

Work Experience, Skills and Knowledge:
• Mechanical Engineering Knowledge: Understanding of mechanical engineering principles and practices.
• Equipment Maintenance: Skill in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining construction equipment.
• Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot and identify mechanical issues in equipment.
• Documentation Skills: Accurate record-keeping of maintenance activities and reports.
• Safety Awareness: Adherence to safety protocols and guidelines during maintenance tasks.
• Collaboration: Effective communication and teamwork with cross-functional teams.
• Technical Aptitude: Proficiency in using tools and equipment for maintenance tasks.
• Adaptability: Flexibility to learn about new construction equipment and technologies.
