General Summary
Responsible for Identification, enrolment and retention of Adolescent /Young People Living with HIV.

Key Responsibilities
• Organize and conduct health education talks to AYP and care takers
• Provide pre-test and post-test counselling support to AYP
• Conduct HTS.
• Receiving newly diagnosed HIV positive adolescents
• Provide health education
• File running during Adolescent clinics
• Support in triage and taking anthropometric measurements
• Registration of clients in linkage/Pre-ART register to get patient ID number
• Appointment monitoring- identify those due for viral load testing and line-list them.
• Mobilizing AYP due for VL testing
• Adherence monitoring and support
• Adherence counselling and support
• Intensive adherence counselling and support
• Assist in formation of support groups and help in running them at the facility Level

Person Specification
• Aged 18-22 years
• Labor laws; min of 2 years of service
o Be HIV positive,
o Be disclosed to, and aware of HIV status
o Willing to disclose to others.
o Public disclosure an added advantage, but not mandatory
o Demonstrated commitment and passion in helping peers
o May be in or out of school.
o If In-school, tertiary level with a flexible program to allow for their engagement.
o Available to offer services for 3 days in the week
o • Be able to read and write (English) with a minimum of primary leaving certificate
o Resident within the Health Facility catchment area
o Should be stable in care. should have been in care for at least 12 months; ≥ 12 in care; good adherence; suppressed viral load within the last 6 months
o Be able to freely express themselves,
o Good interpersonal skills and ability to interact productively with other fellow peers
o Self-motivated, innovative and capable of meeting deadlines
o Excellent communication skills
o Ability to work in team in a respectful way
o Willingness to work and live in rural areas is required.
