Job Description
The GRE/GRP Technician will be responsible for laminating Glass reinforced epoxy pipes, fiberglass mats, bidirectional, nexus, or other composite materials and assembling the parts for fiberglass products. Higher national diploma in mechanical engineering, or certificate/ training in fibre glass/ glass reinforced epoxy (GRE/GRP) lamination. A minimum of 10 years of experience with approval or an experience certificate is preferable. A thorough understanding of GRP/GRE laminating and associated processes including those mentioned above which may include trimming and grinding. High knowledge of types of fit & TG sam- ples, tools and preparation required, weather conditions (temperature), and preparation for GRE lamination and bonding. Good mechanical aptitude and basic math skills are required: read a tape measure, blueprints, calipers, fractions, and decimals. Basic Knowledge of GRE Material Surface Preparation- SIPCOT & bell end clearance, lactic acid operation.
