National Housing and Construction Company Limited is Uganda’s Leading Real Estate Developer with fifty-seven (57) years of experience in developing, building and managing housing Estates for sell or let at economic rates. The Company, seeks to strategically place itself as the lead National Company in infrastructure development with a view of being a major player in the realization of the National Strategic development goals and strategies thereof.
National Housing has synchronized various productive Strategic Partnerships and engagements with focus on enhancing infrastructure development in the country and strengthened its capacity as a Construction Company so as to broaden its range of services within the infrastructure development arena.
Accordingly, through various strategic collaborative partnerships and with support from different stakeholders within the industry, National Housing will over the next five (5) years look to grow its portfolio to a Class- A Contractor so as to broaden its range of services within the infrastructure development arena and place itself as a major player in Public Infrastructure development.
The Company, now seeks to recruit and create talented and sustainable Human Resource Pool of Professionals, with high levels of Integrity, dedication and commitment, geared towards driving the Company generated business, both in the short and long term. The staff will work as part of an exciting team with a vision of becoming better professionals and execute the Company’s mandate. The successful candidates will be engaged as and when the respective projects are rolled out.

Post: Internal Auditor-Technical
No. of Vacancies: Five (05) Vacancies

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

a) Plan and formulate audit programs based on systemically identified and assessed risks, in line with the approved Internal Audit Plan, Internal Audit Charter and International Professional Practice standards of Internal Auditing.
b) Conduct systems audits of all NHCCL projects and operations in line with the approved Internal Audit Plan, Internal Audit Charter and International Professional Practice standards of Internal Auditing and other best practices.
c) Carry out compliance tests to ensure that operational and financial processes are executed in line with NHCCL policies and regulations as well as applicable laws and regulations
d) Prepare audit reports in line with NHCCL Internal Audit policies and procedures
e) Follow up all recommendations on audit findings as per NHCCL’s guidelines
f) Participate and carry out control risk self –assessment (CRSA) for all Company projects and as assigned from time to time as per NHCCL risk Management strategy and Departmental procedures
g) Provide independent assurance on the effectiveness of the processes put in place by management to manage the risk of fraud as per the NHCCL Fraud policy.
h) Provide assurance on the reliability of information systems (input, process and output) and ensure that all computerized systems comply with the statutory regulations and generally accepted accounting principles, adequate financial controls, established Company plans and procedures, system security policies and effective systems development guidelines
i) Through the Departmental resources, demonstrate understanding of the Company business and make value adding recommendations that contribute to the overall realization of the Company mandate and profitability.

Minimum Qualification and Experience:
a) Degree in Commerce or Business Administration (Accounting or Finance) from a recognized University.
b) Possession of Accountancy or Internal Auditing professional qualification, such as ACCA, CPA, CIA, or CISA, at least Level II, is a MUST.
c) Post Graduate Diploma in Project Planning and Management is desirable
d) Five years Relevant working experience of, 2 of which should be in the Construction Industry
e) Degree in Commerce or Business Administration (Accounting or Finance) from a recognized University.
f) Possession of Accountancy or Internal Auditing professional qualification, such as ACCA, CPA, CIA, or CISA, at least Level II, is a MUST.
g) Post Graduate Diploma in Project Planning and Management is desirable. Knowledge and skills in Public Private Partnerships(PPPs) will be an added advantage
h) Five years Relevant working experience of auditing, 2 of which should be in the Construction and real estate Industry
