Zeus Education Services is hiring qualified and enthusiastic kindergarten Teachers to join its team of specialised child development and education specialists. Qualified candidates will have a proven track record of stimulating the intellectual, physical, social and emotional growth and development of children ages two to five years. Grounded on our education philosophy and guided by our policies, the successful candidates will develop and deliver interactive child-centered learning programs designed to engage, educate and develop a child with the goal of developing and promoting physical, mental, emotional and spiritual health that ensures success during higher education.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Petron and Student Service:
• Act as primary contact for new and existing parents,
• Provide new and existing parents with all information pertaining to the class set-up, operations, while promptly answering and promptly
• Ensure a consistently clean, organised, well resourced and safe learning and play environments for children
• Receive, promptly resolve and document complaints from parents
• Ensure positive communication to all direct and indirect stakeholders
• Supervise children outside of the classroom—for example, at lunchtime or during recess to ensure safety protocols are met.
• Pursue relevant continuous Profession Development based on identified competence gaps, and new, ministry approved new programs
Promoting a safe, positive learning environment
• Maintain a clean and tidy classroom consistent with health and safety standards
• Educate and sensitize children on the use of various school facilities and items at all times
• Prepare class register and ensure collection of daily attendance
• Plan and creatively develop learning resources and adapt them to children’s learning activities and instruction methods and their unique individual learning interests and styles
• Participate in peer-based case conferences for teachers aimed at collectively reviewing and making decisions on individual child cases, appropriately documenting and communicating these cases to the Head Teacher and respective parents in a timely manner.
• Proactively regulate a child’s learning environment to promote learning
• Creatively introduce children to mathematics, language, science, and social studies through play and writing.
• Employ a variety of educational techniques (storytelling, educational play, media etc.) to teach children
• Observe each child to help them improve their social competencies and build self-esteem
• Guide children to develop their artistic and practical capabilities through a carefully constructed curriculum (identify shapes, numbers or colors, do crafts etc.)
• Encourage children to interact with each other and resolve occasional arguments
• Assess students to evaluate their abilities, strengths, and weaknesses.
• Organize nap and snack hours and supervise children to ensure they are safe at all times
• Communicate with parents regularly to understand the children’s background and psyche
• Track children’s progress and prepare daily activity and progress reports submitted to parents using Zeus’ mail purse.
• Collaborate with other educators as needed
• Provide weekly opeational, and updates to Head Teacher/Principal
Plan Development Holistic Child Education and Development programs:
• Develop process manuals for all class activities and roles, where applicable, using props made of locally available materials as learning aids
• Experienced in developing creative assessment and instruction techniques and materials, and using them to intellectually stimulate individual children’s learning
• Maintain personalized learning plans per child, preparing their respective competency check lists to assess individualised learning outcomes
• Plan and facilitate “meet the teacher” days for parent-teacher discussions about unique children’s performance at school, support needs at home and school and developing a collaborative plan to further support the child
• Determine and ensure dietary restrictions for individual students are met
• Closely supervise child-led learning activities, carrying out ongoing diagnostic assessments and promote a motivating and enabling environment for each child
• Participate in classroom, school, and extra curricula plan development, budgeting and scheduling of learning and other school activities
• Carry out orientation for new children, colleagues/staff and visitors
• Ensure that all the process manuals are being followed at all times
Qualifications, Competencies and Experience:
The ideal candidate must:
• Hold a University degree/Diploma in Early Childhood Education from a reputable university
• Have a Grade 3 certification as a teacher
• Have a minimum of five years’ experience as a as a Preschool Teacher
• Have Excellent understanding of the principles of child development and preschool educational methods
• Be familiar with safety and sanitation guidelines for classrooms
• Excellent communication and instructional skills
• Experience mediating and amicably resolving children’s conclicts, and correctly documenting incidences
• Calm and collected, friendly and reliable
• Certification in infant and child CPR
• Computer literacy skills in MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint and internet use for education purposes
• Excellent command of the English and at least one local language (written and verbal)
Bonus:
• Familiarity with Reggio Emilia pedagogy and education methodologies
• Comfort with public speaking and promotional advertising
