The AIDS Support Organization (TASO Uganda), is an organization contributing to a process of preventing HIV infection, restoring hope and improving the quality of life of persons, families and communities affected by HIV infection and disease. TASO has received a sub-award from FHI 360 to implement the Catalyzing accešs to new prevention products to stop HIV (CATALYST) study in three regions of Uganda: Northern Region (Kitgum Hospital and Gulu Regional Referral Hospital), Eastern Region (Bison HC Ill, Malaba HCIII and Namakwekwe HCIII) and Southwestern—Ankole region (Bufunda HCIII and Mbarara Municipal HCIV). The study is part ofthe Maximizing Options to Advance Informed Choice for HIV Prevention (MOSAIC) Project, a 5-year global project funded by the U.S. President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) through the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID). The main objective is to ensure that individuals, especially women, can protect themselves from acquiring HIV and other infectious diseases by accelerating introduction and scale-up of new biomedical prevention products and expediting their availability, acceptance, uptake and impacts in PEPFAR programs. In an effort to deliver on the expected mandate, TASO requires the services of dedicated, competent, innovative, and result-oriented individuals for employment on a contract basis for the posts below;

Duty Station: study Sites: Namakwekwe HCIII, Bison HCIII, Malaba HC111, Gulu RRH, Kitgum Hospital, Bufunda HCIII, Mbarara Municipal HCIV Directly Supervises: None
Main Purpose of the Job:
To recruit and consent eligible MOSAIC-CATALYST Study participants, conduct interviews and records reviews, track study participants over time, and following all study procedures to ensure accurate data and ethical treatment of study participants.
Key Outputs
• Potential study participants identified, screened and recruited.
• Data collection tools translated, tested and reviewed.
• Study protocol and all study procedures adhered to.
• Health facility registers reviewed and required information captured into an electronic system
• Adverse events effectively documented and reported to the Supervisor
• • Participants that have missed study appointments identified for follow-up interviews Quality control process implemented throughout the study.
• Study Data queries resolved.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
1. Participate in study training
2. Participate in the translation, testing and review of data collection t
3. Identify, recruit and screen potential study participants
4. Conduct and document informed consent process; securely store all informed consent documents per study procedures
5. Conduct face-to-face and phone-based interviews with participants (people interested in HIV prevention and site staff), enter data on electronic devices
6. Upon learning of any serious adverse event or social harm, complete required forms, enter them in electronic database, and immediately inform Supervisor
7. Obtain study forms from health care providers and enter them into electronic database
8. Review health facility registers and capture required information into an electronic system
9. Provide and document participant reimbursement per study protocol
10. Accurately complete and maintain all field logs to track study progress and other files, whether computerized or manual.
11. Securely handle and store data collection forms per study procedures
12. Identify participants that have missed study appointments; telephone them to conduct follow-up interviews
13. Work with the Data Manager and Site Study Coordinator to resolve data queries
14. Consult and communicate in a timely manner any challenges encountered during data collection with the Site Study Coordinator
15. Flawlessly maintain participant confidentiality
16. Implement quality control process throughout the conduct of the study.
17. Participate in regular team meetings
18. Adhere to the study protocol and all study procedures
19. Perform any other related duties
Person specification: study nurse
• Minimum Academic Qualifications: Diploma in Comprehensive Nursing, Nursing, OR Midwifery. Bachelor's Degree or International Equivalent in Health Sciences, Social Sciences, Nursing or Related Field.
Required Experience and Exposure
• At least 2 years of experience conducting quantitative interviews for a research study
• Experience interviewing adolescent girls, young women, and/or Trans populations preferred
• Nursing experience is preferred
• He/ she must reside near a study site
Key Skills
• Ability to communicate in both spoken/written English and relevant local language {Luo, Kiswahili, Lumasaba, Jopadhola and Runyakitara} required
• Ability to navigate electronic data collection systems (experience with ODK, RedCAP, KoboC011ect, or Survey CTO preferred)
• Ability to effectively work as part of a team.
• Highly proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
