Job Title: 962 District Tally Clerks
Organisation: Electoral Commission
Duty Station: All Polling Stations countrywide, Uganda
Reports to: Information Technology Support Assistant
Allowance: Shs.100,000/. per day of tallying.

The Electoral Commission, established under Article 60 of the Constitution of the Republic of Uganda and mandated to conduct public elections and referenda. invites applications from suitably qualified persons to fill the following positions within its establishment. .
Job Summary:
The District Tally Clerk will assist in conducting the four (4) major categories of elections specifically on polling day. The major categories of elections are:-
• Presidential and Parliamentary
• District City Chairpersons and Councilors
• Sub-county Chairpersons and Councilors
• Municipal Mayors, and Councilors
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
• Capturing of results from Declaration of Results form (ORF) into the result tally software.
• Ensuring that all results for each election are fully captured and accounted for in the tally software.
• Proper filling and storage of DR forms after capturing the results in the tally software.
• Testing and checking of software to ensure that all administrative units and candidates have been put in the software for each elective area.
• Making sure that the tallying venue is properly set up
• Furniture is available (both seats and tables)
• All computers set-up and read for tallying to begin
• Responsible for the security of the tally kits.
• Unpacking all tally kits from tally avenue to district offices for safe custody.
• Any other duty that may be assigned by the supervisors
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
• The applicants must at least hold a Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) or its equivalent
• Diploma in sciences, Business, Secretariat or any other related discipline with Knowledge of computer (office packages) will be highly desirable.
• Should have high moral character and proven integrity
• Excellent data entry, typing and accuracy skills.
• Ability to work for long hours (day and night)
• Must be a registered voter.
• Possession of a telephone number registered on mobile money in owne’r name (s) to facilitate e-cash payment.
• (6) months working experience is an added advantage.
