Save for Health Uganda ( SHU ) is a reputable local non-profit NGO fomred in 2002 with a mission to improve the quality of health of Ugandans through Community Health Financing approaches. SHU has expanded and consolidated its activities in Luwero, Nakaseke, Nakasongola and Mityana Districts and now wishes to recruit qualified and hardworking persons to fill the available vacancy

Post: Accountant
Reports to: Team Leader
Duty station: Luwero

Responsibilities
The position holder will prepare and examine financial records for SHU and for the community health insurance schemes network locally known as MBUSO. He/she will handle book keeping and financial data processing, cash flow management, reconciliations, financial planning and reporting, budgeting, external auditing of the books, supervise office administration staff, prepare all payments and deliver them to the concerned officers in time, enter all financial data in the accounting application, keep all financial records, maintain assets registers, and train other staff members and MBUSO leaders to appropriately handle their accountancy related tasks.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
A Degree in Accounting or Business Administration. Knowledge and experience of using an accounting package preferably quick books is a must. Successful candidates must have at least 3 years work experience in a similar position with a very busy organization.

Successful candidates must have at least 2 years‘ work experience as Administrative Assistant or Accounts Assistant preferably in a very busy organization.
