Job Description
The Accounts assistant will report directly to the Accountant and serve as the coordinator of finance and accounts for the company across operations and products. This includes the following responsibilities:
• Oversee and manage cashiers, store managers, and procurement officers
• Manage company documentation, including expense receipts, delivery documentation, employee contracts, etc. with assistance from the cashiers
• Review and submit weekly account reports on stock and finance compiled by store managers and cashiers
• Oversee logistics of fulfilling sales and delivery contracts
• Coordinate banking, payroll, and routine taxes (PAYE, VAT, and NSSF)
• Coordinate routine audit of accounts and submission of tax returns
• File invoices and follow up with customers on receivables
• Develop financial projection models and grant proposals
• Coordinate fulfillment of any requirements for financiers or donors
Required Experience
• Fluent English
• 2-3 years of experience as an accountant in a Ugandan registered company preferably a manufacturing/Agri-processing company
• Previous management experience or experience overseeing field activities
• Degree in relevant Account or Finance field, CPA or ACA preferred
• Advanced knowledge of MS Office and Tally (required)
• Good communication skills via email, phone, and report writing
• Willingness to relocate to a rural area for extended periods
