JOB DETAILS:

Overall responsibility
To prepare and process payments based on approved documents and bank reconciliation statements at end of the month, post accounting transactions and prepare accounting statements accordingly.

Specific responsibilities:
• Formulate and plan together with the EAPIL Chief Executive Officer and staff annual budgets for EAPIL office and its loan scheme.
• Assist the EAPIL Chief Executive Officer and the Credit Officer to mobilize additional working capital for EAPIL in its drive to grow its Loan Fund.
• Pay all EAPIL bills, staff salaries, monthly NSSF staff contributions, PAYE etc.
• Make EAPIL's annual income tax returns and prepare monthly bank reconciliations.
• Prepare EAPIL monthly financial reports, maintain accurate financial journal/record as well as making any other financial reports required by the EAPIL Management and Board of Directors.
• Provide onsite orientation and training to EAPIL funded clients in basic bookkeeping and financial skills.
• Assist the Credit Officers in reviewing, screening, and correcting clients' quarterly financial reports before forwarding them to the EAPIL Chief Executive Officer.
• Assist the EAPIL Chief Executive Officer to computerize and update all EAPIL financial records and those of its clients.
• Carry out onsite financial monitoring of all EAPIL funded projects under the direct supervision of EAPIL's Credit Officer and Chief Executive Officer.
• Support EAPIL clients to conduct full financial analyses during business plans development for selected potential loan applicants.

Desired Qualifications and Experience:
• A bachelor's degree in business studies with an accounting option and or stage 2 of a professional course such as CPA or ACCA.
• Knowledge of automated accounting programs:
• particularly Loan performer
• Skills in use of Microsoft excel and word are desirable. Three years minimum working experience in a relevant institution, preferably MFI.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with a wide spectrum of stakeholders.
• Good command of written and spoken English
