Job Summary
To initiate, design, plan and strategies for promoting and enhancing the public image of Baylor-Uganda in line with the Organization mission and objectives
Overall Responsibilities
• Develop and monitor implementation of policies, strategies, guidelines, for the PR, Advocacy and communication in line with Baylor-Uganda 5-year strategic plan and National Pediatric and Adolescent HIV policies in working with the PR Manager.
• Develop and monitor the implementation of a consolidated ‘PR, Advocacy and communication’ plan and budget in the region and as well as monitor the integration of related activities during planning and budgeting for any Baylor-Uganda grant in line with the various grant objectives and Baylor-Uganda financial guidelines.
• Develop and monitor the implementation of PR, Advocacy and communication ‘operation strategy’ based on holistic strategic thinking’ and monitor its implementation through periodically developed quarterly consolidated BSC, guided data utilization & reporting by program implementers then prepare consolidated periodic performance reports to key stakeholders in line with Baylor Uganda’s mission Develop and maintain a competent & motivated “Unit team members” through implementing HR support activities in line with the Human resources manual and Baylor Uganda research policy.
• Monitor the development and usage of organizational key information tools that promote both internal and external relations then represent the Baylor Uganda at local, regional and international for a so as
• To engage the public about the Baylor Uganda’s mandate in accordance with organization’s policies and guidelines
• Develop and monitor the implementation of a system to track ‘local and international media reports concerning pediatric/adolescent HIV/AIDS and other aspects in the Baylor-Uganda mandate’ and dissemination procedures of the findings for management action and staff awareness in line with Baylor Uganda’s mission
• Develop and maintain good working relations with the media including local and national newspapers, magazines, social media plate forms, radios, TV then professionally engage them instantly during the 9. PR, Advocacy and communication’ plan and budget.
• Track ‘local and international media reports concerning pediatric/adolescent
• HIV/AIDS and other aspects in the Baylor-Uganda mandate’ good working relations with the media
• Develop and monitor the dissemination/ usage of public information.
• Website content management Press briefs, organize press conferences and events that provide information to the general public and key stakeholders.
• Rectification of issues that negatively impact on the organization image and when boosting its visibility periodically through targeted promotional messages in line with the communications policy
• Develop and monitor the dissemination/ usage of public information, advocacy and education materials on HIV/AIDS and services offered by Baylor Uganda and those that promote behavior change and health seeking behavior then periodically report on their impact in the Baylor-Uganda in line with the various grant objectives
• Monitor the organization progress in terms of building and maintenance of strong alliances and networks with public and private partner organizations for concerted advocacy efforts and greater participation in policy dialogue then report their impact on Baylor-Uganda performance, image and visibility
• Develop and monitor the implementation strategies for website content management, writing/ editing for the web, graphic design and site management.
• Develop and monitor the implementation of advocacy strategies that will promote a vibrant civil society, targeted community mobilization and community engagement in advocacy and resource mobilization to enhancing community ownership and sustainability
• Monitor the implementation of guidelines for developing press briefs, organize press conferences and events that provide information to the general public and key stakeholders in line with the various grant objectives and the departmental mandate
Required Qualification, Experience and Competencies:
• A Degree in Communication (Public Relations/Media Communication). A relevant post graduate qualification in Communication is an added advantage.
• The candidate must have at least five (5) years working experience in a reputable Non-Governmental Organization 3. 30-45 years of age.
