The Eastern Archdiocesan Development Network (EADEN) is a network of Caritas organizations of the Catholic Church in the Province of Tororo. It covers the Dioceses of Jinja, Tororo, Soroti, Kotido and Moroto. EADEN was established to coordinate development initiatives in the Province and link network members and partners locally, nationally and internationally. The mission of EADEN is "To promote social economic development and prosperity amongst communities in Eastern Uganda” through key thematic areas of; Climate resilient sustainable livelihoods, Governance 81 Human Rights, Organization and Institutional development, Gender Justice and peace, Financial empowerment, Network and collaboration. Job Title: Advocacy and Resource Mobilization Coordinator
Job Status: Contractual and full time
Reports to: The Executive Director
Location: Head Office — Mbale
Job purpose: To coordinate and take lead in the implementation of EADEN's advocacy and resource mobilization strategies in line with EADEN’s strategic focus.

Duties and responsibilities:
Advocacy

•  Lead the implementation and maintenance of a robust advocacy strategy at EADEN and within the network Member organization (MOS).
  
•  Build capacity of EADEN staff and its Member Organizations [MOs] to engage in effective policy analysis and advocacy at all levels.
  

Resource Mobilization

•  Organize all activities related with fundraising and resource mobilization in EADEN
  
•  Take the lead in identification of funding opportunities for both financial and non
  
•  financial support from the mainstream donor organizations, the private sector, corporate entities and individual philanthropies in coordination with all staff and Network member organizations.
  
•  Take the lead role in writing competitive funding proposals, business plans and concept papers in consultation with other relevant staff and network members.
  

Management roles

•  An active member of the Secretariat Management Team contributing to key decisions, policies and strategies relevant for competitive positioning of EADEN and the Network MOs.
  
•  Representing EADEN at external forums and meetings in line with advocacy and resource mobilization fields in consultation with the Executive Director.
  

Qualifications and experience

• A minimum of Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Agricultural Economics, Rural development, Development Studies, Social Sciences or related field. A postgraduate training in relevant fields is a strong added advantage.
  
•  At least five years working experience in a similar position within the NGO sector
  
• Excellent knowledge of the computer especially Ms. Office packages and the internet
  
•  Experience in fundraising and donor reporting
  
•  Training and experience in project planning and management
