Job Description:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant Project Manager specializing in Water Irrigation Projects to support the successful execution of our water irrigation projects. As the Assistant Project Manager, you will work closely with the Project Manager to coordinate and oversee various aspects of the project, ensuring smooth implementation and timely completion.

Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with the Project Manager to plan, execute, and manage water irrigation projects, ensuring adherence to project timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
• Assist in developing project plans, schedules, and budgets, and monitor progress throughout the project lifecycle.
• Coordinate and liaise with multidisciplinary project teams, including engineers, architects, contractors, and subcontractors, to ensure effective collaboration and efficient project delivery.
• Support in obtaining necessary approvals and permits from stakeholders, such as clients, government agencies, and regulatory bodies, for project implementation.
• Assist in identifying and managing project risks, as well as implementing proactive measures to mitigate and resolve issues.
• Monitor and control project costs, including procurement, labor, and materials, in alignment with the approved budget.
• Conduct regular site visits and inspections to monitor project progress, ensure compliance with safety standards, and assist in addressing any construction or design-related challenges.
• Prepare and present regular project status reports to the Project Manager and senior management, highlighting progress updates, financial summaries, and risk assessments.
• Foster positive working relationships with clients, subcontractors, and other stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and timely resolution of any project-related concerns.
• Stay updated with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in water irrigation projects, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Postgraduate qualification in Project Planning and Management is preferred.
• Registration with the Engineers' Registration Board (ERB) or a relevant professional body in the country (registration in another country shall be considered an added advantage).
• A minimum of 10 years of professional experience, including project management experience.
• Must have completed at least one similar water irrigation project (500-2000 hectares).

Skills and Competencies:
• Solid understanding of project management principles, including planning, coordination, and budgeting.
• Knowledge of water irrigation systems, construction methods, and relevant regulations and standards.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration and relationship-building with project teams and stakeholders.
• Problem-solving mindset, with the ability to analyze complex issues and propose practical solutions.
• Proficiency in project management software and tools, as well as computer-aided design (CAD) software.
• Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.
• Ability to work well under pressure, adapt to changing project requirements, and contribute to a positive team environment.
• Familiarity with safety protocols and regulations in construction projects.
