JOB DETAILS:

Key Result Areas:
1. Prepare weekly maintenance schedules and allocate work to Boiler Mechanic and Welders.
2. Schedule preventive maintenance and service program of the boilers for execution by the Boiler Mechanics and welders.
3. Oversee proper maintenance of records and registers related to boilers maintenance.
4. Oversee and maintain good housekeeping practice.
5. Adhere to the company’s Environment, Health and Safety regulations while at work.
6. Prepare maintenance reports on the status of boilers for submission to the Boiler Officer and/ or discussion with the Engineering Services manager or Business Unit Managers.
7. Supervise, guide and appraise performance of the Boiler Mechanics and welders.
8. Ensure compliance by mechanics and welders to the company Environment, Health and Safety regulations while at work.
9. Supervise tradesmen and technical service providers during installations, repairs or maintenance.
10. Inspect facility periodically, (buildings, heating surfaces, equipment, ancillaries) to determine problems, troubleshooting and maintenance execution.
11. Contribute to the development of the maintenance budget, cost reduction modules and attitude change.
12. Monitor the inventory and maintain the history card of the equipment.
13. Participate in coordination of projects line renovations, modification and installations.
14. Any other duties assigned by the Boiler Officer or ESM.

The position reports to the Boiler Officer/ Facilities Manager.

Educational Qualifications & Experience
1. Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized institution and certificate in boiler operations is an added advantage.
2. 2 years relevant experience in a similar role preferably in a manufacturing industry

2. Must be good at application of creativity and innovative skills in managing projects.
3. Should have good analyzing skills as well.
4. Should be a problem – solver and be able to grasp the problem at hand and take quick steps to resolve it.

6. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
7. Ordinary Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized institution.
8. Certificate in boiler operation.
