Job Summary
The business development manager (BDM) is often the first point of contact a new potential client will have with a business when they are seeking information on the products and services the company provides in Uganda and East Africa as well.
Job Roles and Responsibilities
• Leadership Roles
• Product reviews; participate in product reviews and support management in new product suggestions.
• Offer support to top management in developing marketing plans
• Prepare periodic departmental reports.
• Business Development Roles
• Understanding and evaluating current company products.
• Opening new markets for company products in Uganda and East Africa.
• Opening new channels for the company products that are outside the reach of sales team.
• Surveying the market and evaluating opportunities available that company can capitalize on through its varied range of products and services.
• Developing strong relations with major customers to ensure smooth flow of operations.
• Expanding the scope of the company in the market. Sales Support Roles
• Providing support to the sales team in closing sales for the company
• Supporting in developing pricing list for the company and ensure adherence to that.
• Receiving feedback from clients on our products and utilize that information accordingly.
Skills and Qualifications
• At least 7 experience in a business development role for an FMCG with a proven track record of exceptional performance.
• Strong business analysis skills.
• Market knowledge, presentation skills, prospecting skills.
• Strong leadership and team building skills.
