JOB DETAILS:
The Jesuit Refugee Service (JRS) is a ministry of the Society of Jesus, incorporated as an international non-governmental organization with a mission to accompany, serve, and advocate for the rights of refugees and forcibly displaced people. The organization was founded in November 1980 and now has a presence in 57 countries. JRS undertakes services at national and regional levels with the support and guidance of an international office (IO) in Rome. The style of JRS service is human and spiritual, working in situations of greatest need, seeking the long-term well-being of refugees and displaced people while not neglecting their immediate or urgent needs. The main services provided are in the fields of Education and Livelihoods, Reconciliation, MHPSS and Advocacy.

Key Responsibilities
Under the direct supervision of the Business Innovation Officer, the Business Skills Trainers is responsible for supporting the implementation of Business Skills and Mentorship Programmes aimed at enhancing the economic resilience of beneficiaries. This role involves conducting business skills training, financial literacy programs, providing business mentorship, tracking progress of micro-enterprises.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Business Skills Training and Financial Literacy:
• Design and deliver a comprehensive training sessions on business skills and financial literacy tailored to beneficiaries' needs.
• Conduct business skills training needs assessment for the supported beneficiaries.
• Facilitate interactive workshops to equip beneficiaries with practical Business & financial management, skills.
2. Business Pitching and Assessment:
• Organize and conduct business planning and pitching sessions with beneficiaries to assess viable business ideas.
• Provide constructive feedback and guidance to beneficiaries on business proposals.
3. Business Mentorship and Growth Support:
• Design and deliver a comprehensive business mentorship programme tailored to market driven demand.
• Offer ongoing mentorship to beneficiaries to support the establishment, development, and sustainability of micro-enterprises.
• Guide beneficiaries through the challenges of starting and growing a business, offering solutions and recommending best practices.
4. Monitoring, Evaluation, and Reporting:
• Conduct regular monitoring visits to assess the operational status and financial health of beneficiary-run businesses.
• Develop and present to the monitoring team the training content, Signed Attendance sheets, monthly progress reports, tests and evaluation results in a prescribed manner.
• Collect and analyze data relevant to beneficiaries' business progress to evaluate program impact and areas for improvement.
• Compile and submit detailed, results-based monthly reports on livelihood activities, highlighting successes, challenges, and areas for improvement.
5. Beneficiary Mobilization and Engagement:
• Participate in mobilizing and preparing beneficiaries for various livelihood activities and ensure they are fully engaged and committed.
• Provide consistent communication to maintain beneficiary involvement in program activities.
6. Administrative Support and Compliance:
• Document all livelihood activities and ensure accurate and timely submission of reports to the Livelihood Coordinator.
• Maintain compliance with organizational policies and procedures in all program activities.
• Undertake any additional livelihood activities as assigned by the Livelihood Coordinator.

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Economics, Social Work, Development Studies, Entrepreneurship or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in livelihood programming, business skills training, or micro-enterprise development.
• Strong understanding of financial literacy and business fundamentals.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Proficiency in data collection and reporting tools.
• Ability to mentor and guide beneficiaries in small business development.
• Familiarity with marketing principles and practices beneficial for resource center support.
• Ability to ride a Motorcycle (A valid riding permit will be an added advantage) as the position requires travel to field sites and community locations to support beneficiaries' businesses.
Performance Expectations
• Timely delivery of training and mentorship programs.
• Positive feedback from beneficiaries regarding training and mentorship effectiveness.
• Accurate and comprehensive reporting on program activities and results.
• Measurable improvements in beneficiaries' business success and resource center engagement.
