Learn more about Danish Refugee CouncilDanish Refugee Council jobs in UgandaFounded in 1956, the Danish Refugee Council (DRC) is a leading international NGO and one of the few with a specific expertise in forced displacement. Active in 40 countries with 9,000 employees and supported by 7,500 volunteers, DRC protects, advocates, and builds sustainable futures for refugees and other displacement affected people and communities. DRC works during displacement at all stages: In the acute crisis, in displacement, when settling and integrating in a new place, or upon return. DRC provides protection and life-saving humanitarian assistance; supports displaced persons in becoming self-reliant and included into hosting societies; and works with civil society and responsible authorities to promote protection of rights and peaceful coexistence.
Currently, through a consortium project funded by the European Civil Protection and Humanitarian aid Operations (DG ECHO), DRC is providing cash transfers to the most vulnerable refugees Kyaka II, Nakivale, Oruchinga, Rhino, Imvepi, Bidi Bidi, Lobule and Kiryandongo refugee settlements. This support is aimed at supporting targeted refugees to meet basic non-food needs as well as enhance access to education.
This Expression of Interest (EOI) process is the first stage of a multi-stage process. DRC intends to distribute cash and/or vouchers beneficiaries through one or more FINANCIAL SERVICE PROVIDERS (FSPs) to implement a Cash Based Assistance. CBA refers to all programmes where cash transfers or vouchers for goods or services that are directly provided to recipients.
DRC seeks an EOI from different FSPs to provide their services in support of the implementation of DRC's CBA through the signing of a framework agreement. Selected institution(s) will be required to provide the most effective and efficient cash-based delivery mechanisms in support of DRC's CBA.
DRC therefore invites qualified FSPs to submit their EOI in respect of one or more of these options before the deadline as stipulated in the section below.
