CALL FOR PROPOSALS FOR TAX ADVISORY SERVICES
The International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) provides research-based policy solutions to sustainability, reduce poverty and end hunger and malnutrition in developing countries. Established in 1975, IFPRI currently has more than 600 employees working in over 60 countries and works with a wide range of partners. IFPRI is a member of the CGIAR system, and it is headquartered in Washington, DC, USA. In Uganda, IFPRI works in close collaboration with the Government of Uganda and other research and development partners. IFPRI is located at Plot 15 East Naguru Road, Naguru, Kampala and it has had a presence in Uganda for over 20 years working on food policy and environmental research, aimed at sustainable solutions for ending hunger and poverty plus promoting sustainable environmental management.
IFPRI-Kampala is seeking to hire the services of an audit or financial advisory firm to provide the services below.

Scope of the engagement:
Tax Advisory Services
The scope will depend on the transactions in question as well as the legal framework in place from time to time. These will include the following:
i. The firm will be responsible for updating IFPRI on changes in tax laws as per the amendments.
i. Respond to all issues/concerns and assist with resolution of any queries raised by Uganda Revenue Authority in relation to IFPRI's corporate income tax filings.
Advise Management on any other income tax management issues/risks that may affect IFPRI's operations in Uganda. These include but are not limited to new income tax requirements and rates.
iv. Provide routine tax advisory services and respond to issues and queries raised by Uganda Revenue Authority in relation to the Country Compliance requirements.
v. Laise with URA on taxation affairs addressed to IFPRI and provide support on technical responses as and when required.
vi. Conduct tax health checks and tax trainings to IFPRI- Kampala staff, where necessary.

Annual tax Compliance
Assist IFPRI with the review and filing of the provisional and final tax returns in accordance with the income Tax Act.
Specifically, the firm shall review the financial
statements and check compliance of the entries with the Act and deal with routine queries from URA regarding the returns.

Required documents:
1. The firm's profile clearly showing evidence of previous similar work in a similar related environment.
2. Eligibility to conduct such services and the respective registration documents authorizing the firm to work in Uganda.
3. Documented experience of the firm in relation to conducting audits for research and development of donor funded operations.
4. Evidence of qualifications and experience of the firm's key staff.
