Call for consultant/ firm to conduct media training tender job at Kilimo Trust (KT)

1. About Kilimo Trust
Kilimo Trust (KT) is an independent Regional agricultural development organization - working on agriculture for development across the EAC Region. It is registered in the Republic of Uganda, and it implements projects across all EAC Partner States. The core business of KT is to support the transformation of food and nutrition security in the EAC Region away from high-risk subsistence farming into lower risk trade-based systems.

2. The Assignment:
Kilimo Trust is inviting experienced and qualified consultants to submit proposals for the provision of media training to enhance the skills and capabilities of our spokespersons and staff. The objective of this training is to empower our team with the necessary tools and knowledge to effectively navigate the media landscape, ensuring clear and compelling communication in line with Organisation Strategy and the Communication Strategy. Specifically, after the training, participants will be able to:

▪ Understand the media and how it works.
▪ Stay relevant to all KT’s audience segments.
▪ Build coherence and consistency in delivering messages across an organisation.
▪ Remain confident and in control when facing the media in good or bad times.
▪ Remain on message during media interviews.
▪ Harness opportunities for strategic positioning when they arise during live or recorded
interviews of interactive shows on TV and radio.
▪ Have capacity to manage press conferences.

3. About the Assignment:
The Consultant will be required to:
a) Assessing the current media landscape and identifying key communication challenges.
b) Designing a tailored media training program addressing the specific needs of our organization.
c) Conducting interactive training sessions covering media relations, crisis communication, interview techniques, and effective messaging.
d) Providing practical exercises and simulations to reinforce learning and enhance practical skills.
e) Provide training report.

4. Qualifications
We are seeking consultants with the following qualifications:
a) Proven expertise in media training, with a focus on communication strategy, media relations, and crisis communication.
b) Strong presentation and facilitation skills.
c) Demonstrated experience working with diverse teams and adapting training to different organizational contexts.
d) Understanding of Media Relations in East Africa
e) Knowledge of current trends and challenges in media communication.


5. Mode of Application.

A proposal outlining the training approach and methodology, Examples of previous media training sessions conducted, if applicable. and Financial Proposal by 11th December 2023 before 3:00pm.
