Call for consultant/firm to conduct training on creative media, graphics & design tendering job at Kilimo Trust

1. About Kilimo Trust
Kilimo Trust (KT) is an independent regional agricultural development organization - working on agriculture for development across the East African Community (EAC) region. It is registered in the Republic of Uganda, and it implements projects across all EAC partner states. KT’s core business is to support the transformation of food and nutrition security in the EAC region away from high-risk subsistence farming into lower-risk trade-based systems.

2. The Assignment:
Kilimo Trust is seeking a qualified and experienced consultant to conduct comprehensive training on the development of graphics and other visual products for use on both traditional and social media platforms. The consultant is expected to be a seasoned expert in creative media production with experience in building the capacity of professionals whose work requires these skills. Specific skills that will need to be inculcated among the trainees include conception, ideation and development of products that include but are not limited to social media posters usable on platforms such as Facebook, X and Instagram; infographics, usable on the same platforms and on traditional information, education and communication (IEC) materials such as, among others, newsletters, brochures and fliers.

3. Scope of work:
The Consultant /Firm will be required to:
a) Introduce basic concepts of creative design such as choice of appropriate colors that reflect the KT brand, typography, integrating text with graphics and customizing text for use on digital platforms.
b) Deliver engaging and interactive training sessions.
c) Offer guidance on industry-standard tools and software relevant to production, digital, and graphic design.
d) Introduce software that can effectively be used by non-expert designers and demonstrate their usage.
e) Demonstrate and provide hands-on exercises and practical demonstrations on the use of creative design tools to reinforce learning.
f) Facilitate group activities based on the newly acquired skills and the sharing of feedback to ensure that trainees can use these skills in creative design and upload them to respective digital platforms.
g) Provide a report of the training at the end of the workshop.

4. Qualifications
The suitable Consultant/Firm should possess:
a) Proven expertise and professional experience in production of creative graphic design.
b) Strong communication and facilitation skills.
c) Experience in delivering training programs to diverse audiences.
d) Familiarity with industry-standard tools and software.
e) A portfolio showcasing previous relevant training initiatives.

5. Mode of Application.
All interested Consultants/Firms must submit online to recruitment@kilimotrust.org their Expression of Interest (EoI), a detailed resume, a proposal outlining the training approach and methodology, a portfolio of similar previous training initiatives, and a financial proposal by 11th December 2023 before 3:00pm.

The prospective consultant MUST clearly indicate in the email subject: “Call for Consultant or Firm: Training - Creative Media Graphic Design”.
