JOB DETAILS:

Currently, Speedaf is a leading logistics service provider between China and Africa.
Speedaf Limited is looking for a suitable candidate (one) for the position of a Cashier.
Job Title: Cashier (1 Job Placement)
Duty Station: Kampala, Uganda .

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
• Provides a positive customer experience with fair, friendly, and courteous service.
• Processes return transactions.
• Collects payments by accepting cash, check, or charge payments from customers and makes change for cash customers.
• Balances cash drawer by counting cash at beginning and end of work shift.
• Maintains checkout operations by following policies and procedures and reporting needed changes.
• Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
• Process sales transactions.
• Accept payments
• Calculate and return change when required by the payment method
• Maintain adequate change denominations in the cash drawer and request additional change.
• Reconcile cash drawers and sales receipts
• Report issues with equipment
• Receiving payments in the form of cash, credit, checks, vouchers, or debits.
• Issuing refunds, receipts, and credits according to store policy.
• Opening and closing the establishment and the cash register.
• Counting the money in cash drawers at the beginning and ending of shifts.
• Making sure that the cash registers have enough money to provide change, and giving change to customers.
• Keeping the checkout areas clean and orderly.
• Using calculators, optical price scanners, and cash registers to tabulate bills.
• Issuing trade stamps, redeeming food stamps and coupons.
• Providing information on store policies and procedures.
• Calculating the total amount of money received in certain time periods.
• Checking that the money in the register amounts to the total sales.
• Recording and computing transaction totals.
• Keeping balance sheets of transaction numbers and amounts.
• Make change accurately and efficiently.
• Deal with returns and refunds as necessary.
• Maintain cash control over register drawer and verify amounts are correct.
• Calculate customer bills through cash register.
• Help with other tasks as needed including managing shelves, tracking inventory, and keeping the store clean.

• Ability to use EXCEL accurately.
• Ability to calculate sales and make change quickly

Requirements:
• A Bachelors degree in Business Administration or any other related course.
• 1 to 5 years’ experience handling money and working as a cashier
• Ability to read and understand instructions
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide very easily and quickly
• Experience operating a cash register
• Proficient cashier and clerical skills
• Comfortable with cash handling.
