Our client Chemiphar (U) Limited is a private and independent analytical laboratory and inspection company operating in the East African Region and the Horn of Africa, located in Kampala. lt is internationally accredited by BELAC for IS0/IEC 17025 and 17020, and by lSTA. The laboratory is fully equipped, and the company has a young dynamic and experienced staff ensuring high quality client oriented laboratory services. ln a bid to upscale operations and further improve the quality of their service, Chemiphar now seeks to fill three positions as below.
Position: Chemical Analyst
Reports to: Head of Chemistry Department.
Profile summary:
Using a range of analytical techniques, such as chromatography, the Chemical Analyst shall analyze samples, document and provide test results to Management S/he will be required a full understanding of the activities going on and alertness for possible problems and malpractice, deviating test results or necessary improvements contributing to better lab performance. S/he will be responsible for carrying out all activities in the chemistry lab in compliance with national and international standards such as ISO/IEC 17025:2017.
Qualifications and key competencies
• BSc in Science and Technology (Chemistry) or a BSc in Chemical Engineering or any equivalent qualification.
• Should know how to work according to ISO 17025: 2017.
• Should have experience in Chromatography systems, preferably on IIPLC, and have worked in –the pharmaceutical industry.
• Applying expertise and technology
• Proficient in ICT
