Kilembe Investments Limited (K.I.L) is a public limited liability company that is involved in the distribution and sale of electricity in six districts in the Western Service Territory in Uganda. The company has enjoyed unprecedented growth and expansion in the last seven years. The company is looking for young, dynamic and enterprising individual to fill the vacancy below:

Job Title: Chief Executive Officer
Reports to: Chairman Board of Directors Department Management Support Services
Duty Station: Kasese Salary
Scale: Per established company salary scales and attractive.
Age: Between 30-45 years
Job Summary:
• The CEO is a full-time professional employee of K.I.L and is responsible for leading the development and execution of the Company's strategic direction with a shared view of increasing Shareholder value.
• The CEO's leadership day to day role entails taking management decisions, acting as a direct liaison between the Board, Management and Staff of K.I.L and all other stakeholders, while implementing K.I.L's strategic plans.
• The CEO acts with utmost honesty and trust in the best interest of the
• Company to enable Board fulfil its corporate governance mandate that is basic to the achievement of the vision, mission, core values and overall strategy as laid down in annual goals and objectives. .

Job Description:
Corporate Governance Support
• The CEO acts as a link between the Board and Management by ensuring that the Board is properly informed through provision of sufficient information that enables it to define and set appropriate policy In concert with the Chairman, the CEO will request for convening of ordinary and special Board meetings, developing Board agendas, and organise shareowner Annual General Meeting To effectively communicate on behalf of the Board about K.I.L matters with Shareowners, Government authorities (ERA, REA etc), KIL clients, staff and the general public
Community and Public Relations
• To keep abreast of all material undertakings and activities of the Company and all material external factors affecting the Company in order to communicate effectively the mission, programs, and essential services to relevant stakeholders and authorities
Compliance
• The CEO ensures that the Company has appropriate systems to enable conducting of its operations both lawfully and ethically while complying with local and state laws/regulations.
Strategic Planning
• To lead in collaboration with the Board, both the development and implementation of the Company's short, medium and long term strategic plans.
The implementation of company policies.
• The CEO ensures that policies and practices effectively support sound and safe electrification with care, and the highest level of a positive experience to the K.I.L clients Financial Management
• The CEO develops budgets for Board approval and ensures prudent management of the Company's financial resources by keeping expenditure within the authorized annual budget lines. The CEO conducts or oversees the negotiation of professional, consultant and service contracts.
Internal Control.
• The CEO abides to specific internally established control systems and authorities, leads by personal example and ensures all K.I.L staff conduct all activities in accordance with the Company's set standards and policies, applicable laws including its environmental, safety and health policies.
Human Resource Management.
• To ensure the human resource for K.I.L is adequately organised and staffed in conformity with current laws, regulations and personnel policies as we carrying out staff performance appraisal.
Facilitates Management -
• The CEO oversees the preservation of the asset value of K.I.L capital investments, oversees the management of construction and facility rehabilitation activities, and ensures disaster and emergency preparedness activities are appropriately planned, documented and exercised.
Carry-out any other duties as assigned by the Board

Education and/ or Experience
• Honours degree in the following areas: Electrical Engineering Accounting and Business Administration/management from a recognised institution. A master's degree in a relevant discipline is an added advantage.
• Atleast five years directly related experience with relevant community facilities of similar size and structure.
• Desired skills
• Superior communication skills.
• Ability to read, analyses, and interpret business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or Government regulations.
• Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedural manuals.
