REPORTS TO: Chief Executive Officer
PURPOSE:
The Chief Strategy Officer will work closely with the CEO and other senior executives to develop and execute the organization’s strategic vision, ensuring alignment with market opportunities, competitive dynamics, and internal capabilities.
KEY OBJECTIVES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic Planning
- Collaborate with the CEO and senior leadership to define the organization’s long-term vision and business strategy, ensuring alignment with market trends, competitive dynamics, and emerging technologies.
- Lead the development of annual and multi-year strategic plans, identifying growth opportunities, such as mergers and acquisitions, partnerships, or licensing deals.
- Monitor and analyze global health care policies and impact on business strategy, ensuring the organization remains agile and competitive.
- Bridge silos between departments to ensure cohesive execution of the strategy.
- Communicate the strategic vision to internal stakeholders and align team toward common goals.
Financial Oversight
- Work with CFO to allocate resources effectively, balancing investment in product development, market expansion, and operational efficiency.
- Drive financial performance by identifying opportunities for revenue growth and cost optimization.
Leadership
- Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and accountability across the organization, encouraging cross-functional teamwork.
- Provide thought leadership on industry trends, competitive landscape, and emerging opportunities, positioning the organization as a market leader.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- A master’s degree in business, finance, pharmaceuticals, or health care administration.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in a strategic role within the private and public sector, corporate strategy, consulting, or a related field, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
- Proven track record of developing and executing successful business strategies in the pharmaceutical industry is an added advantage.
