PURPOSE OF THE JOB
• To develop conceptual and design solutions for Civil Engineering projects using analytical techniques.
KEY FUNCTIONS
• Produce concepts, detailed designs and documentation of University civil projects.
• Provide advice on design issues related to technical guidelines.
• Develop design solutions using analytical techniques.
• Ensure accurate designs and adhere to the University Standards.
• Liaise with Councils, other contractors and third parties to achieve uniformity of work.
• Keep fellow team members and project managers informed of workload and deadlines.
• Inspect or visit sites to ensure quality of work.
• Produce quality relevant reports such as site inspection reports.
• Keep track of the financial performance of allocated work.
• Archive project work, incoming information and outgoing information.
• Attend and participate in meetings and training as requested.
• Record work hours using the Time Sheet.
• Study the structural integrity of buildings and making recommendations on renovations or condemnation for buildings which have outlived their useful life
• Approve Payment Certificates.
• Assist with additional duties as requested.

• Infrastructure designs developed
• Records of university civil projects
• Managed staff work loads
• Regular reports produced
• Accounted project finances
• Approved payment certificates
PERSON SPECIFICATIONS
• Holder of a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
• Must be a member of Uganda Institution of Professional Engineers.
• Must be a registered engineer with valid practicing license from Engineers Registration Board.
• Minimum of eight (8) years relevant working experience in a recognized organization
• Good communication, leadership and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in using relevant computer packages.
• Team work and team building.
• High integrity.

Level of Education: Bachelor Degree
