JOB DETAILS:
Children’s AIDS Fund Uganda ( CAFU ) is registered as a local organization in Uganda, dedicated to limiting suffering of HIV-impacted children and families. We provide comprehensive HIV/AIDS treatment, care, and support and prevention services through effective programming, integration, decentralization, strategic partnerships/ collaboration and referral linkages.
CAFU is committed to a cost-effective, innovative and sustainable model for the scale up and sustainability, of national HIV programs, Health Systems Strengthening and harmonization with Ministry Of Health guidelines and the Government of Uganda policy of Public Private Partnerships for Health.
CAFU is supporting two HIV treatment sites providing more than 6,000 clients with services including: Comprehensive HIV Care and treatment services, including, HCT, ART, TB/ HIV, PMTCT, EID as well as community outreach and complementary services for sexual and reproductive health (SRH) and maternal Child Health (MCH). The HIV treatment sites are Family Hope Centre Kampala (FHCK), and Family Hope Centre Jinja (FHCJ), CAFU is in the process of filling the following position available at Family Hope Center Jinja (FHCJ) treatment site:
Post: Clinical Officer (1 post)
The Clinical officer reports to the Clinic head and is responsible for the smooth implementation, of all clinical activities (curative, preventive, promotive and rehabilitative), in respect with policies and norms related to standards of clinical practice, hygiene and for the medioc- legal aspects of health care. The Clinical officer ensures standardization and quality of clinical care, Plans comprehensive care that delineates interventions to attain expected outcomes. He/She participates in providing clinical care to HIV patients in the Clinic and outreach sites, Maintains accurate medical records, Participates in the CQI meetings and activities, Participates in improving referral systems and community linkages through collaboration with the community in-charge. Participate in continuous professional development activities and Prepare and submit required reports in time. Assist Coordinators (Community Facility linkages, HTS, eMTCT, OVC) as required to maximize the continuum of care between the HIV/AIDS Clinic and other aspects of the CAFU program.
Job Requirements:
Diploma in Clinical Medicine from a recognized Institution plus 4 years’ experience in HIV/ AIDS Clinical Care. Must have working knowledge of Ministry of Health and Uganda AIDS commission regulations.
