About the job
Overview
We are looking for collections officers to assist with the collection of outstanding debts. The collections officer will contact clients and inform them of their debts, negotiate payment plans, and ensure payments are made as soon as possible. You may also be required to institute legal action when payments are not made.
To ensure success as a collections officer, you should have excellent communication, negotiation, and mathematical skills, as well as attention to detail.

Responsibilities
Reviewing the company debtor list.
• Contacting customers and informing them of their outstanding balances and advising customers on their payment options and suggesting methods of payments.
• Handling outsourced debts and meeting collection targets in order to maintain a positive cash flow.
• Perform skip tracing activities involving looking for debtors whose whereabouts is unknown.
• Advising customers on their payment options and suggesting methods of payments.

Qualifications
• In-depth knowledge of performance metrics
• Good Computer skills, especially MS Excel, Word and Email.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
• Organizational and time-management skills
• Decision-making skills
• Ability to work under pressure.
• A Degree/ Diploma or training in team leading is a plus.
• Certificate holders encouraged to apply.
