Our client is a Commercial Farm that specializes in Horticulture. They grow papaya (pawpaw). mangoes, avocado, jackfruit, pineapples, water melon and citrus fruits (oranges, tangerines, lemon and lime), etc

Qur client seeks to recruit a Farm Manager With solid work experience and knowledge in Horticulture and farm management.

Overall Purpose:
The Farm manager will be responsible for planning, organizing and managing the affairs of the farm do administratively and technically.

Key Roles and Responsibilities
Primary Roles

• Develop strategies for maximum yield to g include monitonng and maintaining the quality of yield.
  
• Plan finances and production to maintain farm progress against agreed upon budget parameters.
  
• Coordinate and oversee major farm activities like cultivating, planting, spraying and harvesting
  
• Manage the day to day administration of the farm
• Purchase of farm supplies such as fertilizers and seeds.
  
• Maintain knowledge of pests and diseases, and understanding of how they spread and be diligent in their control and treatment.
  
• Maintain up to date records of finances, expenditures, incomes, progress, yields and all other resources.
  
• Seek to meet any regulatory obligations that ‘ apply.

Secondary Roles

• Sourcing for market for all farm products and ensure e produce fetches a good price.
  
• Maintain an awareness of mar _et and customer demands, standards and sustainability.
  
• Develop simple strategies for business development.
  
• Supervise and manage the performance and welfare of all farm staff.
  
• Develop work plans and assign activities to farm staff.
  
• Create an awareness of and implement health and safety standards.
  
• identify any talent gaps and source for suitable talent of these gaps.

Minimum Qualifications, knowledge and Experience

• Diploma or certificate or any to_m1al qualification In agricultural science, agribusiness and related field.
  
• At least3years' experience in fruit tree/ crop management and production and farm management.
  
• Up to date with agricultural commodity market
  
• Proficiency in MS Office applications.
  
• Excellent problem analysis and problem - solving skills.
  
• Good oral and written communication skills.
  
• Responsible attitude and able to work independently .
  
• Able to handle isolation and minimal social interaction.
  
• Basic knowledge of animal husbandry is an added advantage.
