Finance Trust Bank was licensed as a Tier 1 Commercial Bank on 11th November, 2013, taking over the financial services business of Uganda Finance Trust Limited (MDI). Today Finance Trust Bank is a fully fledged commercial bank serving a clientele of over 400,000 depositors and over 28,000 borrowers, through a network of 35 branches country wide. The bank offers a variety of products and services including; Savings, Current accounts, Loans, Money transfer services and Bills payments to its target market which comprises of micro, small and medium entrepreneurs, salary earners and youth.
In order to meet the needs of its growing customer base, the company is seeking to recruit dynamic, self-motivated, result oriented professionals to fill the following position;
Compliance Manager
This position reports to Head Compliance.
Role of the job:
The Compliance Manager will be responsible for designing, evaluating, supporting, and influencing a culture of compliance throughout the bank, as well as assisting in the management and execution of an efficient compliance monitoring program. network while ensuring full compliance to the requirements of all stakeholders. .
Key Result Areas
1. Draw up a branch Supervision work plan for the entire year and ensure its implementation.
2. Develop and constantly review the branch compliance checklists to ensure they are up to date with current policies and procedures.
3. Analyze planned activities for the regional Compliance Supervisors and ensure that they are in line with the compliance work plan.
4. Review the work of the Compliance Supervisors and ensure quality output.
5. Review Submitted reports from the regional Compliance Supervisors for submission to the Head of Compliance.
6. Follow up with Branches and Head office departments on the recommendations in the Compliance reports to ensure that they are fully implemented.
7. Follow up on BOU, Internal and External audit recommendations
9. Carry out follow up reviews on the branches with poor compliance and audit ratings to ensure full closure of noted lapses.
10. Train both Regional Compliance Supervisors and the branch staff on new and existing policies
11. Draw up supervision work plan for Head office departments and Carry out compliance reviews
12. Work hand in hand with the MLCO in monitoring application of AML and CFT controls across the branches.
13. Attend committee meetings in the absence of the Head of compliance.
14. Train staff on AML and other regulatory issues.
15. Any other duties that may be assigned from time to time.
Minimum Educational and Technical Competence Requirements:
• The position holder should possess at least a Bachelor's degree from a recognized University
• Possession of a diploma in Laws or professional business related academic qualifications ie ACCA, CPA is an added advantage.
• Adequate knowledge of AML and CFT.
• Knowledge of core banking business processes and operations.
• Knowledge regulations and compliance requirements of stakeholders ie BOU & FIA.
• Up to date with legal and regulatory changes in the financial Sector.
• Knowledge of Risk analysis systems
• Experience working with supervised financial institution as Supervisor at least 4 years
• Excellent knowledge of report writing
• The position holder should be at Supervisory level.
