JOB DETAILS:
The Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) is a non-governmental, humanitarian organisation with 75 years of experience in helping to create a safer and more dignified life for people affected by displacement. 1. Role and responsibilities
The Compound cleaner will be responsible to clean Country office compound and support Logistics staff in day to day matters.

Generic responsibilities (max 10)
These responsibilities shall be the same for all positions with the same title. The responsibilities shall be short and essential. Details belong in the Work- and Professional Development Plan.
1. Daily cleaning of office compound and installed equipment
2. Act as a helper for Logistics, Finance and other departments on need basis
3. Act as a helper for loading/unloading, sorting, and packing of items/assets.
4. Act as a helper to handle ICT and other assets.
5. Act as a helper in fleet management

Specific responsibilities
These responsibilities shall be adapted to the particularities of the job location and context, phase of operation, strategic focus and type of programme intervention. This section shall be revised whenever a new employee is hired or the context changes significantly.
1. Ensure office compound is kept clean all the time.
2. Provide support to Logistics staff in handling store items at the time of delivery and release of items.
3. Provide support to Finance staff in archiving of files.
4. Clean store and finance record containers on need basis
5. Daily cleaning of Country office vehicles
6. Cleaning of rub hall from in and outside on need basis
7. Provide logistical support during training, workshops, transfer/transportation of items/assets, by loading, unloading, sorting, and packing of items/assets before shipment to prescribed destination with approved documentation.
8. Water bottle loading/unloading and replacement of water bottles in dispensers.
9. Cleaning of solar panels on need basis
10. Provide support on need basis to travel along with asset/official documents required to transport to another location especially in case public transport is used

2. Competencies

Generic professional competencies for this position:
Education: Uganda Certificate of Education (UACE)
• Minimum 2-year's experience

2. Behavioural competencies (max 6)
These are personal qualities that influence how successful people are in their job. NRC’s Competency Framework states 12 behavioural competencies, and the following are essential for this position:
• Working with people
• Communicate with impact and respect.

3. Performance Management
The employee will be accountable for the responsibilities and the competencies, in accordance with the NRC Performance Management Manual. The following documents will be used for performance reviews:
• The Job Description
• The individual Work- and Professional Development Plan
• The Competency Framework
