Job Overview:
Has responsibility for all phases of technical support for mechanical equipment installation at the job site. Responsible for supporting construction personnel and subcontracts with technical queries, drawings site surveys and activities relating to construction. Key liaison with field engineering, subcontracts, and engineering design functional group. Interprets design drawings and specifications
RESPONSIBILITIES
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
• Assists Technical Services Manager and Construction Manager’s overview, technical execution, evaluation of schedule and forecasting performances.
• Understanding contractual requirements and ensuring they are complied with
• Review of subcontractor documentation
• Update procedures, systems, work processes and standards to cover technical activities used on the Project Sites
• Assists in construction execution planning, system completion and turnover process.
• Verifying subcontractor installations and Field surveying
• Assists Construction and Subcontracts with field subcontract coordination.
• Expedite the flow of technical information from Subcontractors and home office engineering
• Focal point for mechanical technical issues/coordination (TQ’s, SI’s, etc.) between McDermott, Subcontractors, Suppliers and Client for area of responsibility
• Participate in coordination of site works between Subcontractors
• Maintain the action items & Punch list
• Expediting close out of punch lists and system completion.
• Actively support safety, quality and schedule
• Actively support constructability program and communicate constructability issues to home office engineering
• Transferring experience and knowledge to assist in the training and advancement of local employees, ensuring that knowledge of the company’s policies and procedures are included.
• Assists construction teams, supervision and engineering groups as required.
• Support of Material receiving, issue to subcontractor, coordination and preservation
• Understanding site safety requirements and applicability to scope
QUALIFICATIONS
Essential Qualifications and Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering; or associates degree in Construction Management.
• 5-10 years field experience on large scale Oil & Gas projects
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Competence in utilizing MS Suite of products
