PATH is providing Technical Assistance (TA) to the Uganda Ministry of Health Uganda National Expanded Program of Immunization (UNEPI) and National Malaria Elimination Program (NMEP) in the introduction of the malaria vaccine countrywide. Part of the TA includes generating evidence through research to guide the development malaria vaccine messages, IEC materials and targeted key stake holder engagements at national and sub-national level.
A qualitative survey assessing the perceptions, attitudes and concerns on the malaria vaccine among key stakeholders, health providers and child caregivers was conducted in August 2024. Both quantitative and qualitative data and 310 key informant interviews were done. A dissemination is scheduled for November 2024. A consultant is required to analyze the qualitative data keeping in line with the timelines on for dissemination to UNEPI in November 2024. The consultant will meet regularly with PATH investigators during the analysis and provide the dissemination report.
Responsibilities:
1. Qualitative Analysis
• Lead the coding of the transcripts
• Develop themes and sub-themes from each category of participants
• Write-up of results
2. Maintain regular contact with PATH investigators, providing weekly updates via email on study progress
3. Prepare the results of the analysis
4. Prepare key points for visualization and dissemination
Required qualifications:
• Master’s Degree in Public Health
• At least 3 years work experience in the analysis of qualitative data including transcription, coding and thematic analysis, and write-up of results
• Proven experience in preparing and finalizing reports
• Previous experience analyzing data to identify meaningful insights and trends
