Position: Cooperative Development Consultant

Background: Action for Fundamental Change and Development (AFFCAD) is a youth-led organization devoted to transform the living conditions in the poorest slums of Kampala, through economic empowerment programs, health, and education. AFFCAD in partnership with the international Organization for Migration is implementing the "Strengthening Social Cohesion and Stability in Slum Population (SSCoS) project funded by the European Union. The overall objective of the SSCoS project is to addresses the root causes of inter-communal conflict in slum populations by addressing sources of grievance and strengthening community cohesion around shared development assets. The specific objective is to provide employment opportunities and basic local services, as well as preventing conflict in marginalized communities in urban slums (Bwaise, Katwe, Kisenyi, and Kabalagala) of Uganda.

In the framework of the European Union funded project, AFFCAD now invites sealed proposals from qualified Consultants to establish and build capacity for a cooperative. The assignment will take 30 days

Terms of Reference

• Selection of beneficiaries of the cooperatives following agreed criteria, rules & procedures.
• Training of the selected beneficiaries for the cooperative.
• Set up of a cooperative (target 60 members)
• Monitoring and reporting on progress of cooperative
•  Documentation and reporting

Job application procedure
Sealed proposals containing the strategy used to mobilize cooperative members and the methodology to be used to set up the cooperative as well as a CV and a cover letter highlighting relevant qualifications, experience and motivation must be delivered by hand to AFFCAD office or at info@affcad.org  no later than 19th of June 2017 - 5:00 pm. No late proposal sir-all be accepted. Proposals will be opened at the AFFCAD office Plot 322, Mukalazi Road, Bwaise, Kawempe on Tuesday— 20th of June, 2017 at 12:00pm in the presence of the partners who wish to attend.

AFFCAD reserves the right to accept or reject any proposals at any time prior to award of Purchase Order or Contract, without thereby incurring any liability to the affected consultant.
