JOB DETAILS:
Our client Chance for Childhood (CfC)- an international NGO seeks to fill the position of Country Representative. Our client works in Africa to support the most vulnerable children, such as street children, disabled children, children affected by conflict and kids behind bars. They believe that these children are often invisible members of their communities, unable to go to school and living in abject poverty and as such collaborate with different partners to build their capacity to support them..

Job purpose and Scope of the Position:
Reporting to CfC Director of Programmes based in the UK, the Uganda Country Representative has the overall responsibility to lead the growth of CfC portfolio of work in Uganda, providing strategic leadership and taking a leading role in developing and establishing new partnerships. The Country Representative is also responsible for the programmatic and operational management of CfC programmes in Uganda, overseeing implementation of a portfolio of interventions.


Person specification
Minimum Requirements
• Post-graduate degree in social sciences/development studies, strategic/programme management, management studies or other related discipline
• Minimum 8 years demonstrated working experience in program business development and implementation
• Proven experience in fundraising and proposal development, from project design to full proposal writing with good record in raising substantial funds from a wide range of donors
• Progressive experience of programme management (at least 5 years) in the NGO/INGO sector in Africa with a proven track record as a strategic leader, including experience in developing and implementing strategic plans.
• Demonstrable network of contacts and high standing in his/her profession with proven record of building and managing effective partnerships and strategic alliances.
• Experience of managing similar programmes in the developing world, preferably within the child protection and social development sector with hands-on experience in coordinating implementation and support to partners
• Proven experience of managing large multiyear budgets and of planning and forecasting expenditures, and of producing financial reports meeting donor’s requirements
• Experience managing compliance to diverse donors (DFID, EU, Comic Relief etc,);
• Proven strong People and financial Management skills
