Legitimate Investments Ltd. is a Tier 4 Microfinance Institution licensed, regulated and supervised by Uganda Microfinance Regulatory Authority(UMRA).

Job Summary:
The credit Officer should be; An innovative, intelligent, creative, self-driven and hardworking individual. He will be required to; Appraise, disburse, recover and market our loans.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Ensure that credit worthiness of loans applicants is thoroughly evaluated before advancing the loan.
• Strict compliance with all collections Standard Operating Procedures(SOPs) and follow up effectively with clients whose loans are in arrears so that their loans do not get bad (PAR 30+)
• Issue demand notices to clients whose loans are in arrears.
• Attend portfolio quality /arrears meeting.
• Establish loan payment plan by discussing with the borrower on the mode of payment the he/she plans to use if granted loans and advice the him/her accordingly.
• Ensure that loan files are monitored, maintained and updated as and when required
• Ensure that collateral securities are thoroughly examine and analyze before approving the loans.
• Assess customer needs, explore all options and introduce different loan products and credit options available.
• Handle customer complaints and take appropriate actions to resolve them and forward those above him to the Management.
• Help loan applicants fill loan forms correctly before forwarding the file for approval in a timely manner.
• Ensures that credit business is conducted in compliance with the law company policy.
• Negotiate payment arrangements with borrowers who have delinquent loans and arrange for liquidation of delinquent collateral properties whose owners are non-committal.
• Ensure that customer confidence is maintained by keeping credit information confidential.
• Ensure that collateral securities are kept in safe custody after loan disbursement.
• Conduct market research to analyze and identify potential loan markets and new business opportunities and develop referrals networks in order to locate prospects for loans.
• Design marketing strategies and plans to meet the company goals.
• Research and analyze market trends, demographics, pricing schedules, competitors’ products, and other relevant information to form marketing strategies.
• Design questionnaires and analyses customer feedback data to determine whether customers are satisfied with company products and services.
• Manage delinquent loans and bad debts by planning recovery, giving notifications to borrowers whose loans are Non-Performing, initiating foreclosure, write –off and restructuring of loan etc.
• write reports and take up any other duty as may be assigned.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
The ideal applicant for the Legitimate Investments Limited Credit Officer Position must have:
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a loan officer with a reputable financial institution.
• In-depth knowledge of computers especially MS Office applications such as words, excel, Power point, database, etc.
• Hold at least a Diploma in any business related course.
• Ability to work in a goal oriented environment.
• Ability to travel as needed and should have a class A’’ driving permit
• Very good analytical and problem solving skills.
• Very good communication skills both oral and written.
• Very good negotiation and decision making skills.
• Good time manager, self-driven and motivated individual with strong organizational abilities.
• Good team work and collaboration abilities.
• Age: Male aged between 23– 40 years

Level of Education: Associate Degree
