MUJHU RESEARCH COLLABORATION - MUJHU CARE LTD, is a Kampala - based equal opportunities Clinical Research and Service Delivery Organisation with over 350 employees. MUJHU Care Limited is implementing Multiple Research Studies including Clinical Trials with Research sites at Mulago National Referral Hospital and Kawempe National Referral Hospital. MUHU is therefore seeking for an experienced and qualified candidate for the position of Data Manager. The successful candidate will be stationed at the MUJHU offices at Mulago, but will have regular visits to Kawempe National Referral Hospital and other Collaborating Institutions such as the Uganda Blood Transfusion Services (UBTS) and the Infectious Diseases Institute (IDI) .

1. Data Manager - 1 Position Description and purpose: The successful candidate will have overall responsibility to make sure study data is collected, managed and reported clearly, accurately and securely.
The holder of this position will work under the direct supervision of the Senior Data Manager/Biostatistician with administrative supervision from the Program Manager. He/ she will be responsible for the following duties:
• Oversee collection and entry of data from the clinical team.
• Collect data from participating laboratories and update the study databases accordingly.
• Participate in the design of the data collection tools and database.
• Prepare and maintain Study Specific Procedures (SSP)/SOPs including procedures for data collection, data cleaning, analysis and reporting.
• Provide maintenance, trouble shooting, programming and updates to the study databases using REDCap electronic data collection application.
• Update and share study participant's Tracker and other study monitoring tools regularly.
• Provide inputs, information and statistics for weekly, monthly and other adhoc reports to
• Management in a timely manner.
• Ensure quality of the study data, through routine data quality control and quality assurance procedures. Support and/or take lead in statistical analysis and participate in preparation of reports for the Data Safety Monitoring Board (DSMB).
• Provide the relevant support for study monitoring activities.
• Plan and implement periodic capacity building support for study staff.
• Supervise a team of Research Assistants.
• Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the relevant authority Required qualifications and profile Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Biostatistics or Statistics is required. Possession of Masters' level training in public health, statistics, epidemiology or any of the above related fields is desired. Experience: Five years' experience in data management and/or statistical analysis and at least two years working in a clinical research setting is required. Knowledge and skills: The suitable candidate must have demonstrable ability to develop weekly, monthly and other adhoc reports to Management in a timely manner.

Required qualifications and profile
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Biostatistics or Statistics is required. Possession of Masters' level training in public health, statistics, epidemiology or any of the above related fields is desired.
Experience: Five years' experience in data management and/or statistical analysis and at least two years working in a clinical research setting is required.
Knowledge and skills:
The suitable candidate must have demonstrable ability to develop databases, and conduct statistical analysis, interpret/ analysis results, quality assurance and communicate findings, both verbally and in writing, to other scientific staff, health program managers, and other health related organizations.
The candidate must also have advanced computer programming and proficiency in the application of standard and advanced statistical methods of study design and analyses using STATA or R; advanced skills with Microsoft Office; demonstrate skills in development and modification of Mobile data capture applications and reporting using REDCap is required.
The incumbent must also demonstrate the ability to work under minimum supervision and to identify and provide training to peers and subordinates.
