Job Title: Dean of Students
Reports To: Deputy Director Training and Academics

Over all purpose:
Responsible for the discipline and welfare of students in accordance with the core values of the Institute.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Resolution of conflicts among students
2. Ensuring that maintenance of cordial relations among the various student groups and the student body as a whole, to ensure that they obtain maximum benefit from their Institute experience
3. Ensuring the orderly organization of student's activities within the Institute,
4. Providing leadership to the Guild and all bodies and activities that promote the well-being of students of the Institute including the Student's Representative Council (SRC), and offer appropriate advice and guidance.
5. Establish a well functional student guild disciplinary committee
6. Ensure that student orientation and induction workshop are conducted
7. Overseeing the formation of students Associations.
8. Working with student groups and the Sports and Games Department in liaison with Sports and Games Master in developing extra-curricular programmes and activities of the Institute
9. In collaboration with the Accountant, prepare Annual estimates and expenditure of Dormitories Sports and Games, all entertainment and other requirements
10. Encouraging the development of a student culture that encourages exercise of leadership, respect for diversity and the traditions of the Institute, and responsibility for personal actions,
11. Responsible for enforcing Institute rules and regulations and all matters related to students discipline:
12. Responsible for all matters related to Students' Health,
13. Ensure healthy, clean and proper hygiene in the dormitories
14. Ensure students are in the training wings during training time dormitories are closed on time on a daily basis 15. Compile and submit daily, weekly and monthly lists of students the dormitories
16. Ensure timely serving of quality meals to students

Persons specifications
1. Applicants should be citizens of Uganda, holding an Honours Degree in Education, or any relevant field obtained from a recognized Institution
2. At least 3 years of working experience in a tertiary institution, at least one of which should be at managerial level
3. Experience working with Students in an Institute or similar Institution will be an added advantage.
4. Must be industrious and self-driven
5. Ability to manage stressful environments
6. Must have a track record of high integrity
