JOB DETAILS:
Minimum Qualification
Applicants should be Ugandans holding an Honours Bachelor’s Degree in either Economics; or Finance; or Accounting; or Business Administration; or Law; or Social Sciences; or Statistics; or any other related field plus a Master’s Degree in either Economics; or Finance; or Accounting; or Business Administration; or Law or Management or any other related course from a recognized University or Institution. Applicants should possess specialized training in either Government Laws or Tax Administration. Possession of Professional qualification in either ACCA or CIMA or CPA will be an added advantage.
Working Experience
Applicants should have a minimum of nine (9) years working experience three (3) of which should have been gained at Assistant Commissioner or Head of Department level in Government or from a reputable organization.
Duties
The incumbent will be responsible to the Director Revenue Collection for performing the following duties:-
• Developing, reviewing, monitoring and implementing of anti-tax evasion strategies in line with the Authority regulations and departmental strategy;
• Coordinating and monitoring recovery plans/ programs and generating performance reports in line with organization guidelines and policies;
• Developing and reviewing guidelines and procedures for the management of tax payer offences and enforcement of prohibitions and restrictions as per the law;
• Planning, setting benchmarks and monitor implementation of enforcement work plans and programs in line with the departmental business plan;
• Maintaining and monitoring the debt collection register and advising management on the status of the outstanding cases in line with the law and departmental guidelines;
• Managing the planning and budgeting function for the department in line with organizational policies and procedures;
• Managing the performance and development of staff under direct supervision in accordance with the Performance Management Guidelines.
• Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
