What you will do
We are searching for a dynamic and experienced leader to join our Ugandan management team that is leading the expansion of digital financial services in Uganda. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in advancing our business objectives by strengthening existing partnerships and cultivating new strategic alliances. This individual will serve as a key representative of the company in external engagements with partners while providing crucial support to the MD in overseeing day-to-day business operations.

Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Partnerships:
• Collaborate with the Managing Director to identify and evaluate potential strategic partnerships that align with the company's goals.
• Establish and nurture strategic partnerships that facilitate the successful launch of products in the company's roadmap.
Relationship Management:
• Build strong relationships with key stakeholders, including potential partners, regulatory authorities, and industry influencers.
• Represent the company in negotiations and discussions with external parties.
Business Operations Leadership:
• Collaborate with the MD in overseeing and optimizing day-to-day business operations.
• Provide leadership and guidance to cross-functional teams, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
• Contribute to the development and execution of operational strategies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Product Innovation:
• Work closely with the Product team on the development of new products and innovative solutions according to the company's product roadmap.
• Conduct market research and gather customer needs to support optimal product solutions for Fido customers.
Market Intelligence and Analysis:
• Gather competitive intelligence and conduct a thorough analysis of industry trends.
• Stay abreast of market dynamics, and competitor activities, and provide insights and recommendations for informed decision-making.
• Conduct market analysis to identify new business opportunities and assess potential risks.
Expansion:
• Develop and implement strategies to drive the expansion of the company's existing and new products.
• Lead efforts in raising debt to support expansion initiatives.

Requirements:
1. Education and Experience:
• Proven experience of at least 5 years in business development, partnership management, and strategic planning within any of the following: Product Development, Digital Banking, Fintech, Partnerships.
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, or a related field. Master's degree is a plus.
2. Partnership Management:
• Extensive experience in identifying, negotiating, and managing strategic partnerships.
• Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
3. Product Research Experience:
• In-depth knowledge of financial markets, regulatory frameworks, and emerging trends in the fintech industry.
• Proven record of leading enhanced product research to identify valuable information before new products goes to market.
4. Analytical Skills:
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to gather and interpret market intelligence and data.
• Experience in making data-driven decisions.
5. Financial Acumen:
• Solid understanding of financial concepts and products, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
6. Regulatory Knowledge:
• Familiarity with the regulatory environment in Uganda's fintech and financial services sector will be an advantage.
