JOB DETAILS:
North Kigezi Diocese seeks to recruit a suitable qualified person to fill the position of the Diocesan
Treasurer.
Position Job Role
• Undertake overall Financial Management Function of the Diocese
Job Description
• The Diocesan Treasurer (DT) is the chief Financial Officer.
• He/ She is responsible for professional and technical work and advice on financial matters to departments and units within the Diocese.
• He/ She is expected to assist the Diocesan Secretary in planning, managing and protecting the resources and assets of the Diocese.
• Is expected to comply with the financial policies and work closely with the Departments on the major events in the operation.
• He/ She is responsible for promoting efficiency and effectiveness, safe guarding all assets and optimizing their use, to achieve minimum wastage loss and misuse.
• He/ She is expected to preserve the integrity of financial information.
• Ensure compliance with financial and accounting policies.
• Make sure that financial records are available for external auditing at the end of every accounting period.
• Hel she is the "first port of call" for any financial questions e.g. Ledger account balances, budget limits, vote balances Quota balances etc.
• Communicate with any other applicable bodies (e.g. Uganda Revenue Authority. NSSF...) as deemed necessary.
Person Specifications
• An Honors Degree in Accounts/Finance or a related field
• Professional qualifications such as CPA /ACCA/CIA or Master's in Business Administration (Accounting) will be an added advantage
• At least 3 years' experience in Financial Management Mature with deep Christian spiritual conviction. High level of integrity, transparency and humility Committed to the values of the Church of Uganda Good interpersonal skills
• Ability to make informed decisions and maintain confidentiality Team worker
Desired competences
• Excellent financial management skills
• Ability to prioritize activities and follow up tasks to the end Computer literacy
• Good oral and written communication skills
Work Hours: 8
Experience in Months: 36
Level of Education: Bachelor Degree
