About This Role
The Director II, Global Finance provides leadership for international financial management for all country and regional offices, ensuring consistency in reporting and alignment of country office finance strategies and operations with US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), organizational and local requirements, and professional standards. The Director also manages and oversees an international team of Finance professionals.

This is a full-time, remote global leadership position open to internal candidates in any ChildFund location. We are also open to external candidates with English fluency and current work authorization and residency in a ChildFund country of operation: Bolivia, Brazil, Ecuador, Ethiopia, Guatemala, Guinea, Honduras, India, Indonesia, Kenya, Mozambique, Philippines, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Sri Lanka, Thailand, The Gambia, Uganda, or Zambia. Required Experience and Education
• University degree in accounting, finance, business, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
• At least ten years of experience in international finance or financial management; experience in INGO finance strongly preferred.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Chartered Accountant or similar certification or designation in local country preferred.
Primary Responsibilities
• Manage and oversee an international team of Finance professionals, including Area Finance Leads (directly) and Finance Directors in country offices (indirectly).
• Guide and facilitate the effective use of financial resources in 20 country offices; ensure regional and country office compliance with US GAAP, organizational and local requirements, and other policies and standards for finance and accounting.
• Coordinate with International Office departments and Regional Directors to meet global and local financial management and reporting needs.
• Monitor and measure financial deliverables.
• Provide general Financial Management support to country offices.
• Provide assistance to country offices to ensure financial management and reporting satisfies the requirements of local audits and donors.
• Provide advice and guidance on the financial feasibility and accounting details of grant proposals and the budgeting components during grants development.
• Develop and provide assistance with the review and revision of policies and procedures that strengthen internal controls and/or create efficiencies in financial management and operations.
• Coordinate with the Director, GSS Global Accounting to ensure accounting services meet financial reporting and analysis needs organization-wide.
• Participate as a leader on the Global Finance and Accounting Services management team, overseeing and monitoring the Global Finance and Accounting timelines and deliverables.
• Serve as the lead for the international budgeting process, ensuring effective and efficient resource allocation.
• Review and approve Program budgets, including all regional annual budgets.
• Serve as the key liaison to the Chief Impact and Innovation Officer on the budgeting process, aligning reports and analysis with the end user’s needs.
• Collaborate with the Director II, Grants and Project Management and the Director, Business Development to monitor and report on grant targets and activity and address challenges and opportunities.
• Remain alert and responsive to any safeguarding risks; acquire relevant knowledge and skills to enable you to understand the safeguarding policy and procedures; promote strong safeguarding practices; perform your duty and responsibility to safeguard, report violations, and promote appropriate behavior; and conduct yourself in a manner consistent with the organization’s policies and values.

Other Required Competencies
• The ability to speak, read, and write fluently in English. Proficiency in Spanish, French, Portuguese, or another language is beneficial.
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365 environment, including Outlook, Teams, Sharepoint, and Excel.
• Demonstrated expertise in GAAP, internal controls, auditing, and grants financial management.
• Demonstrated strong strategic thinking skills, with the ability to plan ahead, allocate resources, and effectively manage projects and teams.

Other Criteria
• Current residence and work authorization in a ChildFund country of operation.
• The ability to travel internationally up to 40%.
