MU-JHU CARE Limited is seeking a highly motivated and accomplished professional for the senior position of
DIVISION DIRECTOR — RESEARCH QUALITY MANAGEMENT

The holder of this position will work under the direct supervision of The Deputy Program Director MU-JHU and in close collaboration with the Site Principal investigator, JHU Principal investigator, other investigator’s and division directors.

Description of Purpose: The successful candidate has overall responsibility for promoting excellent data quality for all MU- JHU research studies including those sponsored by The U.S. national institutes of Health (both HIV research networks and investigators driven R grants. The holder of this position leads o rnultidisciplinary division of more than 30 Staff in 4 sections responsible for Quality Assurance, Qualify Control, Data Management and Records Management’s/he works closely with the section supervisors and senior research staff on a day to day basis to promote efficiency and effectiveness. S/he also works as part of the management team to support overall organization planning and management including human resource allocations responding to changing study workloads. S/he hos specific responsibility for quality management Planning and Troubleshooting To identify and mitigate problems resulting in delinquencies of study forms and transcription errors. Other responsibilities include oversight of the proper storage of study records and documents and maintaining and promoting effective communication and strong relationships with external partners including centralized data management operations and site monitors and the like.

Required Qualifications & Profile:

  • PhD in Statistics or Epidemiology or MBChB (or equivalent medical training) with post graduate training in statistics or data management from a recognized higher institution of learning.
  • At least 5years' data management experience working with a medical research institutions;
  • Experience in QC/QA would be an advantage.

Desirable Person for the Position:

  •  A highly motivated individual with a critical eye for detail lo ensure proper research documentation and good quality.
  • Knowledgeable about Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and proper documentation in research selling.
  • A good learn player with strong organizational, leadership and communication skills.
  • An excellent planner and good lime manager, who is able to prioritize work tasks and work under lime pressures.
  • Having experience with data management/analysis and or quality control/assurance is an added advantage.
