PROJECT DESCRIPTION
WaterAid's vision is of a world where everyone everywhere has access to safe water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) in the World’s poorest communities. WaterAid works through supporting local organisations and government authorities to design and demonstrate a appropriate and sustainable WASH programmes. WaterAid also seeks to influence policy change through government and other key sector actors to secure and protect the rights of poor people to safe, affordable water and sanitation services.

The positions will report to the Specific Unit Heads, based in Kampala

Purpose of job:

• Transportation ot program statt, equipment, and materials require in the implementation ot the country program's activities.
  
• Ensuring that all WaterAid vehicles are well maintained éroutine service being done promptly) an repairs are done in approved garages.

Principle responsibilities: driving

• Drive the project vehicles with strict adherence to local tra ic laws and in accordance to programme rules and regulations pertaining to vehicles
  
• Ensure that vehicle usage log is updated regularly
  
• Carry out minor repairs and requirements on vehicles as required.
  
• Ensure vehicle is properly up-dated on insurance and licenses policies.
  
• Ensure that fuel consumption report is submitted as required
  
• Ensure that any damages or accidents to official vehicles are properly recorded and reported in accordance with rules and regulations

Education, experience and skills:

• Secondary (Ordinary level) certification
  
• Valid driver’s license in good standing;
  
• 6 years of experience in driving a vehicle with 4 of these in a reputable NGO
  
• Working knowledge of written and oral English
  
• Ability to maintain activity reports
